Just wondering if anyone has and uses one of these? If so what do you think of them? I need something as easy to use as possible. Thanks....Frank

I have one that I would give to you. It is not dependable and never has been since I bought it new. I have a couple Garmin GPS unit the cheapest one (old yellow) that is very user friendly and a 60GSX t and both work perfect. Neither of the Garmins are hard to use one just has more bells and whistles.

the backtracker is a gray screen with a black dot showing your truck and a black dot showing your tree stand. It doesn't show the waist deep quagmire swamp between you and the truck. It was OK for finding your vehicle in a walmart lot but that was it.

Had one worked fine for what it is. Always showed me my way back. Round yellow one gave it to someone on here.

Go with one of the apps for the phone. I have 2 different GPS units and don't use ether of them any more. Sat photos are way more useful than a screen with topo lines on it.

I had one that was worthless.

Well I guess that answered it.

Check some of these. And another thing, not everyone out here has a smart phone as some of you tend to assume. Matter of fact, most of my hunting buds don't have one and don't really need the costly monthly payment to boot. You can likely buy a good gps for the price of a month's service nowadays.

Come on George sell some of those old moldy bows and breakdown and get a good cell phone. They do a lot. You could sit down and have a coffee and get on the leatherwall while you were out stumping. Then you wouldn’t have to buy all those expensive items that the cell phone can do. Heck you could get rid of that computer

No thanks JR, it's just an umbilical cord, nothing more, and a costly one at that. I already spend too much time with the PC, but my internet fee also drives my home phone and the television, such as it is anyway. Don't need another monthly fee, especially in an economy that challenges us normal folk to pay for food and fuel and have some drachmas left over for a burger and fries each month. :))

I had one that didnt work sent it back they sent another and it works great . It got me out of the brush in Texas on a night when you couldnt see your hand in front of your face . Ive used it many times to get back to the truck .

I used one it gets you within a few feet of your marked spot. A truck, car or treestand area, sometimes it would be exactly correct most times it wasn't. Always carry a good back up compass.

Found it was just like a cell phone for me, to deep in these mountains to work at all so now I have neither. Learned how to use a compass years ago and it has always worked fine

My buddy and I used them on our hog hunts in the SC swamps. When everything looks the same it is a relief to know which direction the truck is. You can mark three locations. It would be great to mark the spot where you had to leave downed game.

On our last GA hunt I used OnX Hunt app. Very nice for a directionally challenged person like me. Rather than straight line directions out you can literally backtrack your exact path. Marking way points, drop off spots, hot sign, etc made me feel much more comfortable.

Don't waste your money go with Garmin, if you want a cheap one go with the etrex series they work well and will do everything you want.
