Larry St. Laurent could use your prayers and good wishes and thoughts. He's been diagnosed with stage 3A large cell lung cancer. His doctor says it is curable and Larry will start radiation and chemotherapy soon.

Not as many people know who Larry is, as perhaps should. Maybe because he's a quiet, humble man. But as one of his close friends said, he's a national treasure in the archery world. Larry bought his first bow as a young teen from Glenn St. Charles, a lemon wood bow. He grew up with the St. Charles kids nearby and is still close to them. He is a veteran and had a long career as an industrial painter. Larry also is an expert at restoring and refinishing... lots of things but especially bows. He taught Don Ward (aka the BowDoc) how to restore bows and was his partner for a while. So, if you have a bow restored by the BowDoc, or have benefited from his document detailing how to restore bows, you have Larry to thank for it.

Larry also restored about 50 bows for Al Reader. He continues to restore bows now. His love knowledge of archery and bows is immense. Let's help him have many more years to enjoy archery and help others.

The photo is one of the bows Larry restored. A 1961 Howatt Catalina.

Prayers offered for Larry; thanks for sharing Shandor. As a good friend of Donnie, Larry's name always was part of our conversation. I never had the pleasure of meeting Larry, but truly appreciate his role in traditional archery. Shick

Larry is an American Treasure and a blessing to the Trad Archery World. Had the pleasure of speaking with Larry a number of times many years ago, did some fine "trading" and enjoyed his immense knowledge, wit and skill. Unfortunately, never met the man in person, but yes, he trained BowDoc (who I spoke to a number of times, as well) We need Larry to hang in there and remain strong. From all of his friends in archery, may I offer: Peace, Strength and Blessings...
