Hoping someone here can help me determine when this DH Hunter was made. The only serial number on the bow is "817080". Thanks.

Can you please post a picture of the specs?

I suspect it is a 1998

Pdiddly will know, he's an expert at aging them....

I'll take a stab at it from what I learned here from him:

"The way you tell the decade is by the riser design. So 4579 is the 579th Hunter built in 1974. I can tell it is a 1974 by the curved stripe in the riser. If it has a straight stripe in a shedua riser and is 4579 it is the 579th Hunter built in 1984. If it has a straight stripe and the riser is brown laminated maple actionwood and it is 4579 it is the 579th Hunter built in 1994."

I'm gonna guess it was the 80th HH built in 1987...

2017 actually. That six digit serial number was unusual so that is why I wanted to see the specs.

The 8 is for August...I believe the owners at that time were including the month.

Once you don't see Debra Paddock's script, and the Handcrafted by Howatt script, you know the bow was made after 2011.

The bow has a mark between AMO 62” and the serial no.

This mark is very similar to one that Larry Hatfield has said indicated the bows draw weight was 3lbs less than marked.

I really liked those slimmed-down versions of the 2000 decade. Great bows.

$305 is not expensive for a vintage Hunter.

Thanks for the help, gents. I won the auction. Looking forward to hunting with a DH Hunter again.
