Let's see some pointy thing's. Could be stone, bone, steel, etc. Could be a arrowhead, knife, hawk, etc. The only stipulation is YOU made it in 2023.

Well done Bill, just make sure your edges are super sharp if your going to hunt with them. I had a stone point ounce off the shoulder of a deer. Not sharp enough and not enough poundage per Ryan Gill. Don't want you crying in your beer like me.

Brian, great craftsmanship as always, timing works for me.

Bjrogg

PS is that a jaw bone handle?

From: Stoner
Date: 26-Feb-23

Stoner's embedded Photo

Thanks, Brian and yes that is a whitetail jawbone.

This is a preform of Georgetown flint. My ol neighbor came to visit from Oklahoma and gifted me this nodule and a moose billet. I decided to not thin it and just enjoy the energy it shows in the flutes to remove the cortex. Reminds me of a turtle shell. Anyway it is the first axe head/spearhead with his guidance that did not turn into gravel. John

Great work John and Brian. I ran into more plate glass on the desert the other day that has a purple tint to it which pre-dates WW1. Looking forward to knapping a knife out of it when I get home.

Keep chippin boys.

Couple of St Patty's Day blades. One is glass and the others is Burns Green obsidian. Will notch the point and put a handle on the knife blade when I get back to Michigan.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you to Jon

I like the one from the Burns Green obsidian. That is different looking stuff. It doesn’t have that really shiny look. Scar pattern shows up nice and looks good.

Looks like a pretty nice chunk of flint ridge in the background.

Safe travels my friend

Always one of my favorite threads each year. Thanks for sharing guys. Very Nice.

From: Caughtandhobble
Date: 08-Sep-23

I truly enjoy this thread... I have knapping on my archery related bucket list.

A family friend lives in Leesville Louisiana and he has an unbelievable collection that he has found on his property over the years. Every since I saw his collection I have had knapping on my mind. The thing about his collection that intrigued me was that the hundreds, maybe thousands of the arrowheads are all the same exact size. A quarter (coin) will cover them up, they're small, far smaller than any I have ever seen.

A great lifelong friend has a ranch in Uvalde Texas. He has a collection that is much more diverse, they are larger heads to a few spearheads.

Anyways, keep up the great work guys and thanks for sharing.
