I’m gonna cheat ahead a few hours ;)

Pretty happy with these; custom designed for my 17 YO hockey player to match his stick - right down to the white “sock” on the blade.

They aren’t going to hold a candle to some of the works of art that I hope we’ll see here, but for me, that’s not the point. To me, this is a major Win, just because it has been tough getting him to engage. The fact that he cares at all is a good sign.

The past year saw me need to drop bow weight. So I went from 2114, 2016 aluminum and 400, 500 carbons to 1816, 1916 aluminum and 600,700 carbons. Just finished laying a supply to last me for a while. Here are some of them.

I have neither the patience nor the talent to do fancy arrows like that. Very nice guys, I remember goo-gooing over the fancy arrows in the Browning catalog back in the early 60's.

One for the little people out there.

I just finished a bow for a little person friend of mine. His bow is [email protected]” and to really make a bow like that fun to shoot it needs the right arrows.

Took the skinniest hill cane shaft I had. Wrapped both ends with sinew. Cut in self notches and on the point end I screwed in this torques screw.

Then I shoot it bare shaft with his bow at his 16” draw. I flew straight which was great. If it hadn’t I would have either added or subtracted point weight by putting a longer or shorter screw in.

From: Bjrogg
Date: 10-Feb-23

Then I forged a little broad head from the screw

From: Bjrogg
Date: 10-Feb-23

Bjrogg's embedded Photo

Then I shaped and sharpened the broad head on my grinder

From: Bjrogg
Date: 10-Feb-23

Bjrogg's embedded Photo

Now I have a screw on enter changeable head.

Then I used the shorter tail feathers from wild turkey fan and sinew wrapped them on in a two fletch.

Shoots really nice

Thanks Batman. I just finished up the bow that goes along with it. I’m hoping to get some more pictures of it soon and post it. Be watching for a post titled “One For The Little People “ . I think you will like it. I think it is the most enjoyment I have ever gotten from making a bow and watching someone shoot it.

Red wing blackbirds were the inspiration for these colors. Sometimes they perch on my straw bale targets and I noticed that even on dark overcast days, they are highly visible against the bales. These arrows are also.
