I like elastic cord. Recently tried 3/8" wide flat elastic cord, more comfortable than the round stuff.

Elastic, quick and easy. Not trad enough to need leather or linen cordage.

Antler buttons and stretch cord for me. Easy on and off. Easy to adjust for size.

I use shock cord. Gar skin will be cool, as would stingray skin. I can’t wait to see it.

I like a Jerry Hill. With hook eyes and leather lace. Or Howard Hill. I like the secure bracing feel of the leather lace.

Hook eyes with leather lace (not loops).
I hate elastic because it always loses its elasticity and I don't like velcro because it loses its grab. I don't like bone or other buttons because they are big and clunky. I don't want buckles because they are hard to work one-handed. I would never buy an arm guard that had any of the features in this paragraph.

I picked up a Wes Wallace arm guard years ago and I still have it. Needs new strings to keep it tight, etc. but I can't get it right so it's not being used.
While it is in convalescence a picked up a lovely arm guard from Blacktail Bows. Simple, no frills, a little smaller than the WW and beautifully made. I wish I could afford one of everything they sell.

Only need one for bulky clothing. Got an EFA with antler buttons and elastic cord. A quick twist in the cord adjusts tension if needed.

My girls bought me this one about 30 years ago made by some guy with last name Massie. I don't use it anymore but it is a very well made one.
