After seeing several back quivers on the thread about how many arrows, I’d like to see more. Please post pictures of yours and who made them . Thanks.

I have had this quiver for over twenty years. Beaver pelt on top and Caribou antler for button's. It was made by Jonny Buck from Ohio If my memory is correct. I bought it in Kalamazoo Michigan Traditional bow Expo. I might attend this year, I have not been to that show in over 10 years or so. I hate driving across the state in the snow. I always had people comment on how nice it is.

There are 8 shivers in my picture, left to right, 1. Nylon hip quiver came with a bow I bought, just used for storage. 2. An all leather new Martin quiver my brother got on a deal from EBay for $30. 3. Archery Traditions Quiver I bought from MeatCkr. 4. Black leather quiver I made from a jacket 5. Wyandotte leather quiver I bought new. 6. Brown leather quiver I made from a coat. Works as a back or hip quiver. 7. Smaller Saxon style quiver of my own pattern, made from scraps. 8. Saxon style I made. Pattern was from an old Instinctive Archer magazine. I did make some modifications to the top.

This one is my personal one. When I made mine I was short on leather, so I sewed several pieces together.

You guys certainly have some nice back quivers. Here's my one and only, which I made myself, about 35 years ago. I had to rebuild it, this year. I had to take it all apart and I paid a saddle maker to sew a patch on it, because I had sliced it a couple times over the years with broadheads because I had used a couple of 3 blade heads in it at one time.

It's made out of heavy leather and when I went back together, I riveted it instead of stitching it with leather strings, like I originally did when I first built it. I used the rivets with the idea that them being very smooth on the inside of the leather, there would less to hang up on.

Looking at some of you guy's quivers, I can easily see where I made some mistakes on mine, many years ago when I built it. But I didn't have much to look at back then, as I knew practically no one that used a back quiver or even a recurve or longbow at the time. Only a few magazine pictured to look at.

I originally just made one for myself and son back in the 80's. I was asked if I would make more after visiting one of the local archery shops in my neighborhood...Archers Choice. You may have heard of them. The shop closed many years ago and Ralph went and got married to Vicky and have a bowhunting show on one of the outdoor channels. Good people!

This pic was posted in Ralph's shop back then and was one of the first batches I made.

Just a hobby, never a business...

Some of those are very nice, pretty actually. But I'm not sold on their practicality over an Eagle's Flight strap on with a totem.

A few of the quivers made for my grandkids years ago... along with arrows and armguards. They've outgrown them since and I've outfitted them with adult size.

Another batch for friends and family. Only made them every few years when called upon. Lotsa different styles to keep me from getting bored. Made a few plaines styles (worn horizontal across your lower back) with deer/elk skin also. And a few sidequivers I didn't really care for.

Last one I made. Started to make another only a copy of the Hill stitched quiver instead of laced. Hand stitched of course, no machine. Kind of lost interest since dealing with aches and pains this past year.

Art Vincent made this Eagle back quiver and eagle feather arm guard and Gary Hall made the custom carbon arrows for my sons Eagle Scout ceremony. Art and Gary are both master craftsmen.

I only have this one that I got from Soap Creek on this forum. It is nice and I use it mostly for stumping and squirrel hunting. Of which I will start up doing again as soon as deer season ends.

I struggle with leather work, mainly because of vision and lack of feelings in my fingers. Always wanted a decent back quiver, maybe someday I will be able to throw one together that will be a good one. I made one out of bamboo, looks awesome but weighs a ton, it is for looks and holding arrows only LOL

i like a backquiver, but for hunting i personally prefer a asbell type backquiver.

I actually made one out of an old kwikee quiver...just put a strap on it.

very light and quiet, holds arrows well.
