Hi Guys can i get some suggestions (with pics) for youth bows? Needing around a 42” give or take for my two daughters. Prefer longbow

Samick Shadow 48” youth longbow $119.99 at Lancaster Archery Supply. Draw weight is measured @ 24”. I have no experience with this bow but have purchased many times from Lancaster. Good luck.

Black rhino and maddog come to mind. Both are great youth bows.

Don't have photo's ( do a website check) but St Joe River bows make fine youth bow. Dave and Tracy are fine folks to deal with.

I just built these 2 for my grandkids. 22 and 25 pounds @ 24 inches, both 58 inches long. They're having a ball shooting them.

I have heard nothing but good things about maddog, but I can tell you from first-hand experience that the black rhino is a very good little bow. My younger son shot the same one from the age of about three until he was 11 or so.

I have two being made for my younger grandsons by Gordy Morey out in Nevada. Their ages are 7 and 8 so I took Gordy's advice along with my own experience from outfitting other grandkids years ago and also my kids when they were youngsters and went with 54" bows....they grow into them quick!

I don't think you can go wrong with Maddog pups and how about a mention for the good folks at St.Joe River Bows. I believe it was a Black Rhino bow I bought for my oldest when he was 4 yo. The grip back then had sharp, squared edges...not a good feel for a young beginning archer. Now that was 36 years ago and from the pic posted above it looks like they made some changes. I apologize to Black Rhino if it wasn't those folks way back then.

Maddog and St.Joe were my first choices, one of each... just so happened that a friend out in Colorado highly recommended Gordy.

Nice bows AK Pathfinder.

Last I checked Black Rhino was out of business. Both my kids have had them. And they are great if you can find them.

Never mind, just saw they have a new site up. Guess they are in business again.

Correction to my above post: Bows are to be 48" not 54"
