Those bottlenecks can be great hunting.

My advice would be a couple things:

1. I wouldn't go too crazy in there trimming stuff. The deer obviously like traveling through there because they feel safe if you trim too much of the cover they might not like using it as much. I'd try to find a likely spot on the edge of the thicker stuff to ambush them. I know sometimes with small areas it can be hard to find that "ideal spot" but if you alter what's there too much the deer might not find it an "ideal spot" to be anymore.

2. If I were hunting it and got busted, I'd lay off hunting it for a little while. It only takes one mature deer, especially a doe to bust you and then they won't use the area for awhile in my experience. Educated deer get real hard to kill in my opinion.

There are a lot of great hunters here (much more knowledgeable than myself) and hopefully they many will chime in with advice for you and we can all learn a little something.

Best of luck and keep us posted on your bottleneck.

if it has a lot of activity going thru is like you are saying, just don't go crazy. it can probably handle more than you think

Watch your sent spreading and only hunt when wind is in your favor. I would only try it once a week. sit back way away with binoculars see when there coming and going. Use caution really overgrown next to food is prime bedding areas. You don't want to spoke them out of there, they will move somewhere else.

Public or private? I assume private. Hang at least 2 stands. One for each of the main wind directions. Only hunt when wind is favorable for approach and during hunt. Hang stand near water with the flow direction away from the stand and deer path. In the evening your sent will most likely be pulled toward the water and downstream. x2 what Bigdog21 said when it comes to bedding etc. Can be hunted 2-3 times a week if you keep the wind correct and the pinch point is a travel corridor only.

If it is real thick, I would go in there in winter and figure out where you can set up and where the deer are moving. Then trim some trails. Remember if you cut a trail for you to access a stand it won't take long for the deer to start using it. Trim brush for the deer to wander thru where you want them. Like said above, prepare a couple spots for differing wind directions. Only hunt when wind is good. It being a small parcel it won't take much for them to start avoiding you.

Minimal trimming, use the wind, sneak in and out, don’t over hunt it, hope you don’t get busted, first time is the best
