....I'm going to make it shine.

Got this Little Bear in '69. It was the first laminated bow I had seen and even though I was a bit beyond it I had to have it. Shot it until getting the Black Bear. Roamed a lot of woods with it and once took a squirrel with a lucky shot.

It hung unprotected in the garage for about 40 years since my oldest last shot it. The exposed edges had developed that old moldy look so it was time to clean it up. A fun little project bringing back lots of memories.

Anyone else experience one in the past, have one in the family or collection?

When my kids were little they had a Howatt that was similar to a Little Bear. I did buy a Little Bear for my grandkids though. All 5 shot it and I shot it when rehabbing from elbow surgery.

Great looking Bear bow. Glad you still have it!

I had two of them at one time. One like your with a peg to shoot off either side and one with a arrow shelf. Good little bows.

Good story. My youngest grandson beat the adults two years ago for a camp pie iron. He was shooting my first laminated bow, a Browning Mohawk. I was a proud grandpa!

That L/R peg version shows in the book to only be made in 1969 and 1970. Cool little bows. There were actually different versions and woods over the years just like the full-size bows. I saw a beautiful zebrawood one a while back at auction but it went really high.

I have 2 Little Bears, one is bubinga with gray and green glass. The other is a girl's Little Bear, Michigan maple with bright yellow glass. I'm saving the Little Bears and a rosewood Little Wing for the grandkids.
