Has anyone had any bad experience with G.T. Traditional blemish’s? The only thing I have noticed was the wood grain finish is spotty with some white spots here and there .

Nope,no problems. JF

From my experience, some of the shafts don’t meet weight or spine tolerances.

From: Glunt@work

Hunted with them for years. I don't weigh or spine test them. They have all shot as expected.

From: Dennis Piper

Yes, I have used them for years also. Can't beat the price. You pay for what you get. Some are cosmetic and some are slightly out of specs. Try spinning one. I usually try to cut the wobble ends off.

All I shout. They have been bombproof for me.

From: Tdwhip

The only problem I’ve had , is sometimes when I shoot them at animals they don’t hit said animal. The only thing I can think of is “it must be the arrows” LOL.

From: George D. Stout

They can only be cosmetic issues, for blems, or seconds, etc., since structural issues would make them illegal for public sale, and open up the seller to liability for any injury.

I have never had any issues with them and have used them alot

From: Phrogdrvr

For me, they have worked as designed. No complaints at all.

From: Tree
Date: 01-Dec-22

Some of the blems I’ve gotten have weighed as much as 20gr different, always heavier and those shafts show a tad stiff also.

They work fine for what I do. Not my hunting arrows but for the shooting I do they work just fine. I don’t get all depressed if I lose or break one.

Is a wobble a structural problem? Seems a crack would be

I've used them off n on for about 6 years. They are very tuff from my experience. I have found some of them to be off as far as flying straight. I'm no expert on carbons though.

From: bentstick54

I’ve used them for at least 10 years with no issues. I shoot a lot of 3d, and use them for hunting. I have had only 1 break at the shot, right in front of the fletching under the vinyl wrap, but it had been used several years, refletched countless times and should probably been destroyed long before it broke on its own. Luckily lesson learned without injury, and now I inspect my shafts before shooting like I should’ve been doing all along. Still all I shoot in carbons.

From: Tboughty

Of the last dozen I bought two were, as Tree said above, 20 grains heavier than the others. I use those for beaters/stumpers. Other than that haven't had issues.

From: John Sullins

When I was in the business, I sold them like popcorn, $39.95 back then. I quit counting how many I sold when I reached 250,000 shafts, yes that is correct 250,000. I had almost no complaints. We got in one batch that were sent in error, they had a new person do the selection, and those were in fact way out of tolerance, they were all the Ted Nugent black and white ones. But I did not sell them, returned them. There will always be someone who is not happy with every product, but the blems I got were good shafts with only cosmetic blemishes. Personally, I would not be afraid to buy and shoot them.

When cutting carbon it is recommended to cut from both ends.

From: Corax_latrans
Date: 02-Dec-22

Seems like that would mess up the cresting job….

From: Bigdog 21

Best to cut before cresting.

From: Plugneck

In the last two dozen I bought there was one shaft in each dozen that flew different from the rest.

From: Mechanic
Date: 02-Dec-22

No complaints besides the fact that sometimes there’s too many variations in spine between arrows in the same package, for example I’ve had packages where they were marked 500 spine arrows but had arrows that were 400, 425, 450, and 500’s in the bundle. So keep that in mind.

The blem gold tips are good arrows. But the Dark Timbers are Great arrows for only a few bucks more.. With the Dark Timbers, you can choose your nock colors and chose aluminum or brass inserts for no extra charge! You also don't have to worry about out of spec issues. BigJim

I found them to fly out to 30 yards and land shaft against shaft of non blems. I liked them enough to buy only the blems. I also found no spine issues that affected flight. They were also just as durable as the non-blems.

From: TB Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member
Date: 02-Dec-22

No issues with the ones i have used.

From: Silentstik
Date: 02-Dec-22

My experience is that the blems will work but are all over the place in weight and spine. Bareshaft tuning them versus the non blems shows that for the batch I had was that they were weaker spined. They shoot pretty well but I think their are better options like Big Jims arrows. The arrow .arket due to advancements in carbon design has improved arrow shafts significantly in my opinion. The price point is also getting better if you now where to look.

From: Dry Bones

I have found a few shafts that did not fly quite right. I was told from a larger store that the GoldTip shafts, or a lot of them at least, are sent here via ship carrier, and can get slightly out of shape while in the oversees container. IF anyone has ever had much experience with those they know how hot it can get inside. This may only be one persons speculation, and I do shoot Gold Tip Arrows, but I believe there are better options out there if you are looking for better tolerances. Again, get what you pay for, or not.

I picked up some GT 3555 blems in here. No testing. Wanted to try using carbon. Their overall weight is same each arrow. They shoot good.

From: Andy Man

I got some back some years ago

- I don't shoot god enoough to tell any difference- shot good for me

Just did not care for carbons - wood and aluminum are a better choice for me

Seems like the Easton 6.5 bowhunters (Beman) are the better deal.

The big question to me is, why do they have so many blemishes for so long. If it is not preventable what are the other companies doing with their blemishes? Having said that I haven't had any problems. 20 grains is not noticeable to me. >>>----> Ken

From: Bigdog 21
Date: 02-Dec-22

Ken not sure what's true.but I was told GT moved there plant to Mexico, still owen buy GT. Raw tubes get shipped back to GT USA for them to processes into good shaft. Call assembled in USA. Other company's buy the shaft threw other company's and there already processed so only good arrows make the cut. Up to other company to deside what to do with rejects alot sold on ebay china arrows?

From: Ross Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member
Date: 02-Dec-22

I agree with 2 bears why not fix the blemish problems . I get it there will always a occasional hiccups in manufacturing but for this long ? It seems almost to become part of their product line . That being said I just bought a dozen . Not my first won’t be my last as long as G.T. keeps making mistakes

From: Bigdog 21
Date: 02-Dec-22

Not stick up for GT. But something are out of there hands. Like who makes the graphics? Is it what is bad. If so when they catch it they will change out film and sale the bad ones as blemish. And get a refund on acct. For bad graphics from the other company. Happens all the time with big company's .
