I know it seems a little early but getting questions and some need the dates to plan vacations at work before the first of the year. It will be the first full weekend of May, May 5/6/7 2023, at our club 1097 Ashley road Chapmansboro,Tn. 37035 don't seem like 25 years , time really flies. Also new rule this year, No pet allowed, in the past we have let you bring you pets if kept in camp , but that just don't work.Had a kid bit last year and the dog was in camp, the kid walked by and the dog got him, had 2 bit the year before and dog poop everywhere, I know people say it's not the dogs fault but the owner, that's probably right but either way we just can take the chance anymore. I know this will make some mad and probably keep some away and I am very sorry about that. It just has to be done. I love my dogs as you all know but nevr once thought about taking them to an event. As a guy told me " would you take you bow and arrows to a dog show'This is a archery/primitive skills gathering ;). Please spread the word for me. If you need more info pm me or call 615-456-5961cell/931- 362-3717 home or go to our web site, it has lots of info/motels/directions and contact numbers along with a lot about TwinOaks [twinoaksbowhunters.org] Hope you can make it, it's always fun.Like a family reunion for me. :) Pappy

I remember my first one. It was either 2004 or 2005. The weather was not dreamy that year. Pappy and his crew were out with the 6x6 pulling people out of the mud every time I went by my camp on Saturday. Dreamy weather or not this is always my favorite shoot.

May in Tennessee can do most anything, sometimes dry and beautiful and sometimes not so much. We do have lots of roofs to get under and lots to see and do so rain or shine seems everyone always has a good time. Pappy

Just FYI, we are staying with the new format we started last year, registration will open on Thursday the 4th of May at noon, if you are interested in shooting for score your card will have to be in Saturday the 6th at 3pm, awards will be given out right after the raffle drawings and before the pot luck supper around 5pm.Saturday evening. The self bow challenge awards will be given out at 10 am Sunday the 7th to give ones that are finishing their bows time to shoot Sunday morning if they like. The range will be open to shoot for fun until around 2 pm Sunday. Everyone seemed to like this last year since most are packing up Sunday to head home and not many left for the awards. Please help spread the word for me. We will have a schedule of events for you when you register so their is no mix up. Thanks. Pappy

Classic and they will give you a discount. it is a Hampton inn, ask for Sherry 615-894- 9910 or 615-979-1252,Pretty nice they say [twinoaksbowhunters.org] Also camping is free you all that register for the event.PS i hate to keep mentioning this but NO pet are allowed on the property so PLEASE help me get the word out about that so we don't have any mix up during the event.:) Thanks, Pappy

I thoroughly enjoy TN Classic. To show my appreciation, id like to donate this Black Hunter Recurve, hip quiver, and 6 carbon arrows.
You can give it away, or raffle it to make money.
All i would ask is you do it in a way that it gets to someone in need, prefferably a youth, or someone intrested in the sport but lacking funds, a newbie.
Its 60”, and 30# draw weight, so it works for most anyone, the perfect weight. If someone wanted to donate a tab, or glove, it would be the total package.
To save money, i’ll bring it when I come.
Thats a good excuse for “I have to go !” ??????? ??

Thanks John. Yes things are coming together, still lots of little things to do but we are getting there. Setting the initial ranges Saturday and then we can start filling in with scenery and bonus targets in the next couple of weeks. We usually have 110/120 targets out so it takes a while. After the main targets are set we give each member a station to fill in and set up what they want, usually turns out pretty cool with a lot of different ideas. We have 44 vendors confirmed and are full , you should be able to find about anything you need.Looking forward to seeing my old friends and as always meeting new one, as I have said many times it is like a big family reunion for me and miss Joanie. :) Pappy

Just returned from the 25th anniversary Twin oaks shoot and had a fantastic time. It was one of the best traditional gatherings I have attended. From my door in Michigan, it was 625 miles to the shoot, a long drive yes, but well worth it. There were two courses 0f 20 targets, each station had multiple targets that made a cool diorama of elk, Rams, Deer, Turkeys and wolves that had motion activated sound boxes of with their calls. Each course trailed through some of the largest trees I've seen in a long time. Everyone there was very friendly. Pappy and his crew put on a fantastic event. We are already making plans to return next year.

What a really great event. The effort the club there puts into every aspect of running it should be appreciated by us all. For the people directing traffic to those who sets the targets, those in the food area, and all other areas including the many vendors, I say thank you. There are a lot of other events we all like, but this is one that has to rank at the top. I only wish I could have been there all 4 days. Thanks folks, it was fun!

Thanks again to my good friend Pappy and the rest of the Twin Oaks family of friends, they had No doubt the Best ever target set up you would hope to see. (Going to be hard to beat that one) but I know you guys will be trying. Weather was great, I met more good friends, hard to remember all the names. Food was good, I had a great time and even shot well enough to get 3rd place in Selfbow. Thanks to all my good friends for a great week at Twin Oaks. Kurt
