Anyone know what the brace height range is for an OLD but mint Herters Perfection 56 Inch Recurve?

Thanks for your input - I just got this thing and I know nothing about it...

Thanks - Dave

Herter’s used the word Perfection in several models, Sitka, Premier Magnum,Sambar. They were not measured in length to AMO standards. They measured brace height to the back of sight window. 56” Perfection brace listed in 1972 catalog is 9.75-10.25”.

Trad to the Bone confirms what I remember.

Herter's never followed the AMO suggestions, so you have to really find what works best for you. As mentioned, "Perfection" was their moniker and applied to many of the models in their line.

You'll also find the length of a 56" Herters bow is actually about an inch and a half to two inches shorter than an AMO 56". Important to know when making or ordering a string. Best always to measure them anyway.

www.vintagearchery.org has a library tab that connects to catalogs. Some great Herters info regarding “fistmele” (brace) and strings and yes, they measured fistmele from the back of the bow. Start there and play.
