Just about finished with my ‘69-‘73 Shakespeare Super Necedah. Zebra wood and Seduha. Figure I’d post a photo before I put my Hoyt super rest on it.

Or do you prefer the ‘74 Wonderwood?

That zebra wood is just beautiful but so is the other one.

The Zebrawood one. Beautiful riser.

Zebrawood.

I'm one of the few who doesn't care for zebrawood in a riser. Flat grain limb veeners look great, just not in the riser for me. I would opt for the other.

I had the Wonderwood one for 3 yrs before I got the Zebra wood. Love the ‘74 and thought it was really pretty. ( it was dulled down for turkey season and had a much better shine) smoothest 54” bow I’ve drawn.. After getting the Zebra one, I’d have to say I like the looks better. Haven’t shot it yet. Still several months away from it’s 45#.

Zebra wood for me too. Had one but sold it years ago. I can’t keep them all.

There is a picture of the 74’ when it was shiny in this post https://leatherwall.bowsite.com/TF/lw/thread2.cfm? threadid=317624&category=88#4785117

Zebra wood All nice though

The zebrawood looks more conventionally "beautiful", but I personally prefer the darker tone of the Wonderwood and would choose it for my own if I had the choice. :)

From: Kodiak

C'mon man, zebra of course. Really pretty bow.

From: George D. Stout

I like the impregnated riser as well. Both are nice but I don't like a "busy" riser. As an aside, most bow companies were switching over to the plastic impregnated maple in the early 70's. It was cheaper to get and easier to obtain as well, most was maple that was treated with hot plastic; made for a very durable and inexpensive riser. It had various names as well, Futurewood, Wingwood, Wonderwood, etc., all the same principle.

Zebra wood I love it & have to many bows just because the wood was pretty.>>>-----> Ken

I love the Super Necedah! I got one for Christmas in 1970. I shot that bow constantly. I sold it a few years later to buy a Wing Slim Pro line.

Zebra all the way.

Zebrawood for me. I'm sure they both shoot fine but the Zebrawood just downright looks better. I have one in 55lbs.

I like the zebrawood. I can't stand any of the laminated wood risers. Future wood Actionwood, Diamondwood or anything else like it.. Real tree wood is for me. JF
