Recently contacted by a Erik Weihenmayer co-founder of No Barriers (https://nobarriersusa.org/) an organization sponsoring outdoor opportunities for folks w/ limited abilities.
Erik asked about archery targets for blind archers, specifically, is there is an audible target so that blind archers can have some independence from the spotter (although I think that a spotter should still be on hand for safety concerns)?
So - looking for ideas for an audible target.

I'm not aware of any that are mainstream and available for purchase (which doesn't necessarily mean anything). However, I did see Bob Markworth on a couple of different occasions use an old fashioned ticking alarm clock as an audible target while shooting blind folded.

To add on the above post , I remember seeing on television a softball that beeped so the visually impaired could hit it.

So it seems there are a number of potential options to explore.
That's encouraging.

Have seen it done with a five gallon metal pail with a buzzer installed in it. Rubber blunts were used on the arrows and gave a loud noise when they hit the buckets. The buzzer gave a audio signal for the kids to shoot at They hit it surprisingly well from ten yards.

I made one out of high density foam and a wireless doorbell. have the doorbell mounted behind the foam, then shoot at it in the dark (for sighted guys). Guy pushes the button, and you shoot at the sound.
