75, I went through some down time (three years) because of surgical complications. When I came back, I made an osage bow that pulls 43# at my draw length, I shoot it well. It came to light that in all of the years I have been shooting (50+) I have been over bowed.
My favorite bow is 53# at my drawlength, I have been doing some serious weight work at the gym and am back to shooting it but not as well as my 43# bow.

I'll be 77 in December and until 2 years ago shot 3 Toelke Super Ds 49 to 54@29". A torn rotator cuff during Covid with only P.T. has changed my draw length to 28" and Dan made me a 66" Classic Whip 34@28" a year or so ago. I was up near Ronan recently fly fishing and shot a Pika at the shop and now I'm waiting on a 56" Pika Classic 41@28" which I plan to hunt again with, it's been a long time.

My Longbow is 50#s & I will turn 81 in about 3 weeks. I also shoot a compound of 60#s for hunting & 50#s for targets. In 2015 at age 74 I shot the 5 day NFAA Field championships with my 50# Longbow. 112 arrows a day xs four & minimum of 28 the 5th day.. My Longbow doesn't get used as much but I shoot on a regular basis & it's my hunter when I do go. I'm fortunate to handle the weight easily, it's my knees that are the problem. I say I started in 1956 when I bought my 1st real bow & joined a club so 2022 starts my 66th of actual archery/bowhunting. I still compete & try to make the bigger events around my state. Since we are sill in the game, regardless of the weight we pull, we are blessed. I bowhunted Illinois 1st ever Deer season in 1957 & arrowed my 1st Deer in 1958. It's been a journey & many an adventure. Now I get to share my sport with a bowhunting son & 3 G-sons.

Not as old as some here but beat up worn out shoulders.
Still shooting 50-55 pound draw, but will move down soon.
Back when, I had Don Assenheimer make a set of limbs using incredibly beautiful Fiddleback maple veneers at 45 pound draw for the inevitable future. They are more attractive than ever!

70 years young, my hunting weight is 50 - 60# depending which bow I hunt with. I hunt public lands and pack my gear in and out each time. I work at staying in physical shape so I can continue to hunt. It is part of my life style.

My hats off to all of you over my age of 75 and still pulling good poundage. I'm shooting far less than 99% of you for health reasons but, thank God, I'm still enjoying every minute I can fling a few arrows.

I’m 70 years old. I am a survivor of Covid, prostate surgery, mini strokes, and triple bypass. I’m guessing many of you are are probably like me.
I wasn’t sure if I would shoot my hunting bows again, but here I am. I currently own and shoot a BlackWidow PSA at 50@28. My draw is a little longer than that. I will hunt with that weight earlier in the fall, but currently am hunting with a 45# Liberty longbow and a Black Widow PLX 45# longbow. They are both good performers with arrows around 500 grains.
Don’t know what I’d do without archery and hunting. Hardly a day goes by without shooting a bow or at least me thinking about it.

I am 78 years old and shoot 43# at my draw length. First went bowhunting for deer in 1957 and took my first in 1964 with a 45# Bear Kodiak magnum bow, Cedar arrow tipped with a Bear Razorhead, and leather finger tab. That deer started what turned out to be a lifetime adventure for me and I have never regretted the experience. Even when I served six years in the USMC I was able to keep bowhunting and scheduled my leave time to be able to come home to Wisconsin to bowhunt. Bows n' arrows, archery, bowhunting...they have given me much in my years and brought untold riches and wealth in terms of challenge, opportunity, friends, and adventure. Without a doubt, in a heartbeat, if I could I'd go back and do it all over again!

I'm 70 hunt mid 40s#, been a cadaver study for the last dz yrs.
Question should be 'who are under 50 that are hunting with the recurve/longbow?", would be more interesting.

I’m 72, don’t hunt, like to shoot heavy wood arrows(600-800 grs.) so I shoot 60-75#, mainly ASL or old Bear long curves. That said, I have to work at it every week. Occasionally I shoot a 41# American Archery Cheetah Supreme recurve with light arrows at paper.

83+ here... I'm still loving/enjoying a couple of good, fast bows pulling in the low 40's now. Could handle stiffer bows, but why? Hunting isn't what it used to be but 3D is still a blast!
