Ok , This may be a somewhat long post with pictures so please don’t be upset cause I can’t spell worth a lick or do I know how to write a story well either. This is about a very close friend of mine I met when I was a Junior I believe when I was in my high school years . I and a friend named Duane Sard were going to Assateague Island to hunt these little deer that resemble a miniature Elk called a “Sika” deer and we never hunted them before and we were excited to go on our very first trip with our bows. Duanes brother who was a State trooper at the time knew where these deer were at the time on the island and we were to pick up a friend of his named Bruce Golt who lived near Tuckahoe State park outside of Ridgely Md.. Well we found Bruce who lived up a dirt road and when we picked him up Duane and I noticed we could never get a word in listening to this new fella who hunted with a recurve. He was naming all the Legends we all here know and we all became close friends from that very first hunt. Now Bruce and I have been friends like Brothers for 43 years now if my calculation is correct and we have been on many hunts together,3-d shoots and just stumping through the woods together. He now lives just down the Choptank river from me and we see each other a lot. If you know Bruce you know he can tell some story’s and “Most” are true but he can ad some humor to those story’s cause he loves to see people laugh . He and I argue like siblings sometimes over archery and some hunts but it’s all in good fun. What I want to share with many of you here and some are Legends we all know is this Jack Howard bow he has and he has it in my shop with another Jack Howard as well. This one I looked at this morning just to see who has put their signature on it and if you look closely you will see many names that just “POP OUT” and then there are a few of you all on here as well. Some have passed away to be with our Lord already and after I took these pictures I kind of felt like a Tear run down my face like the song that George Jones sang called “Who’s gonna fill their shoes” . He is singing about All those Legends we once knew. Well anyway this bow is a Special bow to him and I can see why . What I would like to say to you all who read this is to Love one another and to make memory’s with folks and none of us is promised a tomorrow . One day we too will be Legends and I pray that we are not forgotten . We leave a imprint of what kind of person we are and I for one Love my Friends I make .... Enjoy the pictures folks and God bless everyone. Keefer’s <‘)))><

Thanks Keefers, most of us legends will only be known by our families, and Friends, God Bless. The bow is sure a keeper with History

I have a bow that was signed by many folks at an ABCC meeting years ago. I had no clue that a sharpie marker fades over time so many names have faded away- like Charlie Kroll's signature.

Hey Keith thanks for the story and for sharing the pics of the legends bow. I have known Bruce Golt for over 30+ years. Last year I delivered a gun cabinet to his house, and of course he had to show me his awesome bow collection. And he had me sign that bow. Believe it or not at that moment it made me feel special to be named among such a great group of men. Thanks Keith and bruce.
