This one with my 55# Montana which is my go too bow. Also, just fyi: I have a Brown Montana in 50# up for sale in the classifieds.

I did not know there were elk in Arkansas, Monte... :)

Thanks folks. That particular deer came from Southeast Kansas. Taken on the ground from 15 yds on a 15 degree morning. A much bigger one came by about 30 minutes after this one went down. One of those magical mornings.

I’m impressed!

I would have had my picture taken with that brute

Yep, was glad I had the "2 wheeler" to get him out. But, I tipped him over twice crossing 2 creeks. Wrestling these big ones by yourself is a hernia waiting to happen. Wished I had purchased the 2 wheeler with axle lower to the ground...for sure. Still, a great memory!

That poor big 8....with his main beams tips nearly touching. He couldn't rub any trees and leave his scent from his forehead glands. Had to be frustrating for him. He was probably looking for a skinny sapling to steer his antlers into.... And then you go and shoot him. ;)...Nice buck!

The one guy who's hunted with the Bear Montana and has high praise for it, killed a bunch of deer and small game with it, is no longer posting. He was pretty much the resident expert on the Montana.

And the great part is to be able to give him a place of honor and preserve the wonderful memory he provided for this old stick bow boy.

Nice buck!!

Great buck Monte!

Riverwolf killed a pile of deer with his Montanas.

I miss him here.

From: ottertails

Yep, me too Supernaut.

From: Monte
Date: 05-Aug-22

Really miss him. He, like me, discovered that the Montana is very forgiving and really quiet with a good string on it. And for big sneaky bucks, I rate quiet right up there with shootability.

From: Nemophilist

Nice buck Monte.

I got one of them two-wheel game carts also.

Riverwolf is a diehard Bear Montana longbow guy and has killed quite a few whitetails with it.

He did. Whatever happened to him. I see him on the other site.

I too automatically think of Ralph anytime a Bear Montana post comes up.

From: Randog

That is a beauty for sure. I think my heart would give out if I saw one like that.

From: Andy Man

Taken with a 55lb montana with a zwickey head. Ran 20 yards into a tree and dropped. I’ve since moved onto a different bow for hunting but still shoot the montana from time to time. Great bow

Riverwolf thought he control other people's opinions, it was cringe worthy. Glad he's gone.

From: David Mitchell
Date: 07-Aug-22

I certainly don't share that opinion. I don't recall seeing that ever. I always enjoy his posts.

From: Andy Man
