For sentimental reasons, I suppose, I've hung onto one of my first aluminum hunting arrows that I bought in 1972, I think. The writing's either worn off or more likely under the crown dip, but it's a Gamegetter 1918 spine. Any of you folks keep stuff from days gone by just so you can look at it every now and then?

My hunting buddy who passed away made a few longbows. One of them resides at the top of my bow rack in his memory. It's about time I shot a few arrows with it. RIP, Dick.

Yep, still have one of the arrows left from first dozen hunting arrows I got from kustom king. Also have the arrow from the first squirrel and hog I shot

Aluminum ear tag off the first deer I killed in 1972 with a Bear recurve near the Crab Orchard refuge in Southern Illinois. It was a one antlered spike.

yeh I got an arrow stuck up behind visor in my truck. One of the first ones I fletched myself, with advice & tutorials from Hunter Dave. Thanks DAVE.

Yes, a 2018 Green Game getter arrow with 3 plastic veins straight fletched I shot my first archery deer with.

my Old John Schulz bow

My dad's Hill style back quiver that Craig made for him and his old Bear Mag. riser takedown.

My brother has the last Groves Mag II that Harold made for him.

Yes, my Bear Kodiak magnum that my Grandmother bought me for my 15th. birthday that really got me started seriously into bow hunting.

From: Griz

I keep all of the arrows that killed a deer (some memorable misses too) that I can not recondition, in an old NEET leather quiver that hangs from my bow rack. I have my first bowkill arrow in there and an old BEAR arrow from my Dad's quiver among many others. I also keep his Grizzly around depsite a cousin dry firing it into two pieces many years ago. I keep every antler I have taken plus any I find or have given to me. I have my first bow, a BEAR Grizzly and can still remember the garage sale I bought it at over 45 years ago. Many treasured items that no one will apprciate when I am gone.

My first two bows my Dad bought me are very special to me. A 1969 45# Bear Green Fox all fiberglass bow, and a 1974 60# Bear Grizzly. They both hang on the wall now in my game room.

Also, my Buck Woodsman hunting knife my Dad bought me in 1971. And my Ideal hunting knife my father-in-law gave me in the late 1980s are sentimental to me.

Still have the antlers and the feathered section of the arrow I killed my first deer with,...9-30-64. As a matter of fact, I have all the antlers from deer I've taken. To me, each was a trophy worthy of remembering, even the spikes!

Mounted arrow from my first out of state hunt ( to Wyoming) in 1990: terrible choice of dark fletching and a sharp as heck Premium broadhead that was devastating to that pronghorn ram.

From: Doc Pain
Date: 04-Aug-22

Lots of things. I guess that’s the hoarder in me. Arrows, broadheads, that have taken deer. My old Assenheimer that I bought from Don in 91 or 92 at Cloverdale. I can’t pull the weight anymore, but will never get rid of the bow. I’ve tried to find limbs I could handle several times, but no luck.

From: PhantomWolf

Yes, my '87 Silvertip Paul built for me. I haven't been able to handle the 64# @ 30" for a long time but so far haven't been able to bring myself to sell or trade it. I can't afford new limbs so I just look at it occasionally and it's hard for me to admit this :).

My keepsakes are pretty much inconsequential to anyone but me, but I spose that is not uncommon. I have a couple 20 pins, and my patch for averaging 260 on the indoor barebow back in the early 70's. Special to me.

I still have 3 of the 4 compounds I ever owned. The very first on went in the scrap pile.

When I got home from my South East Asia vacation in 1969 dad saved a 1969 Kodiak Hunter when he closed the archery shop and gave it to me as a welcome home gift. Killed a bunch of deer with it and a bear in 2017 using one of his hunting arrows that he killed a deer with. I have the bow and half the arrow. Those two items mean a lot to me.

Here is an autographed picture that Roger Rothhaar sent me that has sentimental value. I called him and ordered his two books and we talked for around a half hour. After I read his books, I let him know how much I enjoyed them. Not long after that he sent me this autographed picture of him with one of his big bucks. When we talked on the phone a couple times, he never rushed me and answered all my questions. Roger Rothhaar was a true gentleman. I also have autographed pictures of Barry and Gene Wensel when I met them at a seminar near Pittsburgh (Cheswick).

My bow room has lots of memorabilia and pictures of hunts and hunting friends who have passed. I have the arrows that killed groundhog #100 & #200 and the one that killed a big g-hog that took me three years to outsmart.

I still have the stone a little girl at ETAR sold me probably 20 years ago. She said it was an Indian arrowhead. She's probably a used car salesman now. :)

My first recurve was a 95 Bear Super Kodiak. Like a fool I traded it in on a new Jeffrey Royal Hunter. I now have 2 Jeffrey Royal Hunters and a Wes Wallace Mentor recurve. I’ve killed deer with all these three so they all have sentimental value to me. I will keep them till I die then leave them to my two sons.

Like several above, I have five or six arrows that took game in South Africa and Zimbabwe in a cardboard tube in the corner of my hunting room. All cedar shafts, 125 grain Magnus heads and four fletch. It one has a story that only my daughter and I know.

On the top rung of the bow rack sits the 64 lb. Aspen longbow by Byron he made me for the trip overseas. On the book shelf next to it sits my dad’s old spurs. In the other room by my wallet lies a 62-year-old worn down Boker stockman knife my uncle gave me.

I asked my wife of 55 years to bury me with them. And all their memories. And a lot more. It is my selfish hope I get to go before her, and our children. Everything else I have is theirs. But most importantly the memories.

Thanks Jay. I haven't killed the most or the biggest bucks but the good LORD has been good to me. I bow hunted hard to kill them bucks. All my trophies hold memories for me. When I'm old and not able to bow hunt anymore I'll be able to look at them and remines about them bow hunts. :)

My old mentor and taxidermist in NJ gifted me this carving he did decades ago. I cherish this piece. He now has Alzheimer's real bad at 85.
