Just wondering if any of the relatively younger folks, say 20's and 30's, are thinking about buffalo hunting in their future? Just trying to gauge where people's interests are these days.

Just got back from a Zambian Buffalo hunt this past June. Had a blast, definitely going back! 27 right now, hope to make it back before I'm 30.

I have a younger friend on my deer lease who took a bison in Central Texas with his bow last year. He is about 30 years old.

With proper papers you can shoot one in Montana. I believe it is tightly regulated and you have to tell em how you plan to handle the carcass. A front end loader works well.

Just got a bid back from my PH in Zambia for buff... I'm 50.

Lots of interest in bison hunts for meat down South. I think some look to bison thinking the meat is closer to beef in favor and tenderness and you get a lot on the hoof. Folks are buying freezers and stocking them up these days.

we talking Bison?

Shoot... don't need to be young to shoot a Bison. That said - there are some Bison hunts where you better be young, fit and full on "won't quit." I think they are a GREAT animal to hunt because their defense isn't to run... it's to get shoulder to shoulder and stand their ground. On top of that - they are like bear... they don't take a whole lot of horsepower to kill one. 50#, 30", 600g, cut on contact will answer the mail. When you're done you get a HUGE mount, a rug, 600 pounds of amazing meat... and a bad A story!

I should have been more clear.. I was referring to true buffalo, Asiatic or Cape. I figure I have a few years for doing it left in me, but I don’t hear much mention of folks looking to do it with a trad bow any more. My heavier lefties will eventually just sit on a shelf. Not yet though.

You should! No time like the present.
