Thoughts on "better" (purposefully ill defined) on SR's vs Hybrids.
- SR's have alittle bit of a performance edge - hooks are not as aesthetic (to me) - Hybrids are generally quieter. - 64" SR is still a pretty short bow which is nice in a blind. - DFC prolly smoother in SR - 2P hybrid easier to transport in a pack than SR. - hybrid less chance of twisting or string popping off in brush (I've never had this happen but I do worry about it... perhaps needlessly) - SR require carbon... so hybrids have prettier lines, cheaper material (glass v. carbon) AND prettier veneers. SR's and wood veneers are still a work in progress.
Subjective answers only... : )

Can't really argue with the similarities and differences you point out. Whether any one of them is an advantage or disadvantage depends a lot on perspective and use.
I've shot the SRs, and I don't much care for them. I don't like the draw force curve -- a lot of tension up front, less so as one completes the draw. I also don't like the vibration at the end of the shot. It is a softer pulsating than the hand shock on some bows, but it is substantial. They are more efficient than any other bow i.e., faster for a given weight, but that feature has been exaggerated. I also think they're ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I don't much care for the look of hybrids either, particularly that straight limbed triangular look that some have when strung. Most hybrids will shoot with recurves though, and most have a bit smaller risers so they're a bit lighter in the hand. Some like that. Some don't.
If I had to choose one, I'd go with the hybrid. Regardless, I'll continue to hunt with my ASLs and standard recurves.

Hybrids are all you need minus the butt ugly hooks. Subjectively of course.

Hybrids are the best of both. Performance of a recurve and forgiveness of a longbow.

I like my ILF carbon stuff for 3D and range shooting. I like my 1 piece Shrew or ACS 3 piece for hunting. If I feel nostalgic one of the vintage Bear recurves on a sunny cool fall day is hard to beat.

For looks I don't care for either, but I would take the hybrid over any super curve. Your mileage will likely vary. I'm personally not into the fastest on the planet.

Hybrids are actually more recurve than anything else, and in a former life would have been called semirecurves. I do like the way they shoot, but most are pretty fuglified.

I’ve never shot a Super, but for me, if I were ever going to buy another bow, it’d be well-done RD longbow.

Well see if my pic works. I like my SR more than recurves, hybrids more than the SR. I have no torque issues with the Z4 limbs. Don't think you can twist them if you tried. I think the Supernova feels the fastest @10gpp but I shoot 15gpp from the Z4 with zero complaints.

Hybrids imo are the best of both worlds. Don't really understand the ugly comments, but each their own. They are quick, quiet and light in the hand.

I like the look of an ASL. Very classy, what a long bow should be. It looks really nice hanging on the wall while I'm shooting my hybrid.
