Grandson wanting to switch to 3 under, what are my favorite peoples recommendations ?

I was going to say a 3under RB tab. But I use a split RB tab. Very nice. JF

Bateman cordovan works well for me.

For the money and availability, Batemen cordovan.

Barbee Tab, that one on the top left, or bottom center if you have really small hands.

Rick makes the best tab I've ever shot with.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more quality made tab or a nicer guy than Rick to deal with.

I have used bateman tabs for around 20+ years, still shooting the original one I bought.

I wouldn't give you a nickel for a barrel full of cordovan leather tabs, they don't work for me. You need to try for yourself. Someone else's greatest ever may not suit you at all; it may, but it also may not. I like Rick's tabs also, but I still like the old Neet and KP tabs without the KP. :) Don't forget Neet, and American company based in Sedalia, Missouri. They've been in business since the mid 50's selling tabs, guards and accessories.

Oh, and actually, you don't need a specific 3 under tab, just use a tab.

Black Widow works well for me.

You can make your own too. These were made mostly from scrap leather from tandy leathers. The two on the right have faces of cordovan cut from a piece that I bought online... they work great for me even tho my hand stitching is a bit like frankenstein's monster! I've also used hair-on cowhide for the face which is just a slick as cordovan. Used to make them with two layers but these days my fingers appreciate the extra third layer.

I have been using a EFA 3 under for several years now,lots of good tabs out there.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a bad one out of the ones mentioned. For the last few years, I have been using the Black Widow super leather tab, with the center layer removed. It was a bit stiff for me before I removed that layer, but feels great now.

Check out MtnMtl TradTabs. I'm really liking mine, got three.

I've shoot a few, over the five decades of serious hunting. Barbee tab with the nylon shooting surface with an occasional Coconut oil coating is pretty smooth. Been shooting the same one for about 10 years. His new modular model allows for customization.

Make ur own. I practice w this but hunt bare finger.

I don't believe there are any "bad" ones out there....but, like several others I use the one Rick Barbee makes. He is a great guy to deal with and got mine to me fast.

Do you folks use the barbee signature or barbee traditional?
