Thanks everyone for coming out.
The course was nice and manageable, the member dinner was amazing as there were 5 smokers running pork all day Saturday. I believe the guys got it starting at 5am.
I loved seeing all the camaraderie and campfire circles...tons of laughter, a phenomenal attendance by kids and I saw alot of new hopefully lifelong friendships being developed. Tracey, I think you're stuffed animal shoot is going to have to be a yearly tradition. It really drew a crowd.
There was alot of attendance and support from other organizations which I just loved seeing. A big thanks to Michigan Longbow Association and the Michigan Bowhunters for bringing your crews out. Can't wait to see you all again at the GLLI in a few weeks. Jandin and I are bringing my BIL visiting from California as well as our niece and nephew for Saturday, going to makes sure they participate in as many events as possible.
Looking Glass has been an amazing host club for us these last few years and I am happy to announce that we will be returning to Looking Glass once again for 2023, July 21-23. They provide all the great rinehardt targets, and set the course for us every year.
Even though it was a good weekend, there were several things we could have done better, and we're already starting now to make sure those shortfalls don't occur next year. A few things we hope to bring are more targets, more structured games during down times, and a larger volunteer roster. Needless to say, it was an exhausting weekend.
A Big HUGE thanks to all the vendors that came out this weekend, some of you traveling several hours, and all of the companies and individuals that donated for our raffles and auctions. We know in the current state of things and the economics of traveling and towing trailers, making it out can be hard...but you were there. Our vendor validation raffle box was packed full of entries, so we know you were getting good foot traffic. Hopefully it was beneficial...and if there's anything you'd like us to change for next year to make your time spent at the Jamboree more beneficial, please don't hesitate to let us know.
On another note, everyone needs to save the date for March 17th and 18th, 2023...as The Compton Traditional Bowhunters Big Game Classic, in conjunction with the Traditional & Classic Archery Trade Show, will be hosted by the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters in Grand Rapids, MI. Event Registration-Packets will be available soon.
