So I was visiting a old friend and he knows my knife addiction. Well in 2014 he asked me to order a particular knife he has always wanted and so I did. Fast forward to the other day and he gifted me this knife and has kept it new in the box in his safe. Never been out but to look at it. Anyways it’s a German made Boker lock back. I promised I’d use it this year and he was happy to hear it will get used. It’s a awesome gesture. He was never a hunter but did appreciate good cutlery. I know it’s a corny post in a way but I’m really proud he thought enough of me to hand it down too. Been a great friend to me and my entire family.

Wonderful story. And not corny at all. This is the stuff that keeps the brotherhood alive and well! Lance

Beautiful knife but the friendship is better. I don't think it's corny at all. Enjoy your knife and your friend in good health.

Tony I did not as I never heard of that. BUT I will next time I stop over there. He just lives around the corner. He takes care of his wife so doesn’t really leave his house much so I stop there often

Thanks fir the comments. Any one use one of these for Hunting? It’s a good size and falls right in between the Buck 110 and a Buck 112 Ranger which I own and love those too.

My good friend Joe Topaz carried one hunting for years and years.

You have a great friendship. That, and family, and a few memories are the truly important things of this life. I have a fond friendship with Boker blades. A four inch stockman with a leather awl sits on the dresser top next to a brand new one. It is over 60 years old and was gifted to me by my WWII uncle and it virtually never left my pant pocket until I eventually wore the blade down from sharping it.

It has seen several oceans in the army, gutted and skinned deer, elk, antelope, beaver and more. Travelled with my daughter and I to Zimbabwe and South Africa, and floated the headwaters of the Amazon with the same daughter. The old boy ear marked thousands of calves at branding time, trimmed hoofs on every horse I owned, cut a fox loose wrapped up in twine in a fence, and the memories go on.

You have a good knife. And a better friend. Enjoy both. And their memories.

Some knives have the ability to look good while doing business. This is one of them.

I had to come back and look at it one more time. That is a nice one.

Tim, if you're successful and get to use that knife... we're gonna expect more pictures and narrative. No pressure though :^)
