What have people with Osage limb cores on a ASL views.

Going to order a JD Berry ASL not sure on the model yet.

No different than any other limb core in a glass laminated bow.

A friend of mine had Dick Robertson build him an Osage limb Mystical. If I remember right it was a bit harsh on the shot.

Osage is very strong.Probably more resistant to torsional twist. Some say its very stable for that reason I believe.

It does have more mass weight I believe than most other limb laminations.I think it likes a heavy arrow to benefit more from its mass weight. Its said Osage is very good in compresssion. One of the reasons its used in all wood laminated bows with no glass on the belly side.

I have had a few very good shooting Osage ASLs.One was the Great Northern Traditional longbow.I shot heavy arrows.Another was a Great Northern Ghost recurve thats a deeper cored recurve with narrow limbs. That bow was awesome for me.

I have had all wood and bamboo (no glass)laminated longbows and recurves that used Osage on the belly and shot great. Those bows were made by Javaman, saluki and Bows of Wood by Vinson Minor.

Last thier the preffered wood for selfbows.

More purty than foam ... otherwise probably just dead weight.

The mass weight of The limb laminations has exactly -0- to do with whether a bow does or does not shoot a heavy arrow well.

All the heavy arrow does is absorb the residual handshock caused by limb laminations that are too heavy.

The laminations in an Osage bow can weigh exactly the same as the laminations in another bow made from any other wood or grass.

No they Osage laminations,do not have the same weight as other limb laminations. Osage does make for an extra quieter Longbow. JF
