I bought this bow a few years ago from a old bow hunter in northern Wisconsin . He had drilled a tiny hole in top limb tip and hung it from the ceiling . I did this with all his recurves. This the same bow I currently I have posted in the classified . American Archery cheetah left -handed

No reason it wouldn't work.

No way I am doing that to my bows. I realize it works but just not for me.

Not a problem at all. Used to be relatively common for folks to do that and use a string keeper on their bowstring.
That's just excess material any way and serves no useful purpose.

No need to drill a hole. Just take a string with a big knot and hang from the ceiling. Run the knot between the limb and string. It will hang forever. Frank

What Frank said. That's how I hang my bows at my home "range", a knotted rope from a tree.

Wouldn’t moisture sweep in the hole eventually?

As with a boat, I would drill a hole only if absolutely necessary.

I would imagine over time. Not the best of solutions.

It’s not something I would try with any of my bows. I was talking to a fellow member here recently and he remarked . There has to be a better way to hang a bow . I agree with him.

There wouldn't be as much getting there as would get in around takedown bolt holes, quiver bushings, unfinished limb edges, or other places.
But it's all about what you want to do.

Ol' Buck, my old lemonwood bow, has a hole for a string keeper that's been there since it was made in the 1940's. Most were made like that. I just hang mine by the bow string or lay them horizontal on a rack.
