I shoot Easton axis takes the skinny field points that are the same diameter as the shaft. I shoot 125 grain field points. I can't seem to find heavier ones. I guess I could add point weight inside the shaft with those adaptor. Anyone know if they make heavier ones that fit the axis? Thanks in advance

I had some, think the diameter is 9/32. I had them in 145 grain.

I shoot axis shafts with half out inserts. The half outs taper to 5/16 diameter. Many heavy field points are tapered down to 5/16. If you're interested pm me a email or a number and I will send you some pictures.

I have shot 9/32. 175 grain points for several years.

3Rivers has them from 100-185grs and has sold them for a long time.

I 2nd the half outs by easton. Theyre offered in aluminum(25gr)and stainless(70gr). They offer protection for the end of the shaft, and theres more options in 5/16" points.

So the 9/32 fits flush with the shaft at the back of the point? Thanks so much guys.

I just read the 5mm shafts are 17/64.

I can not find 17/64" field points in grains weight above 125 grains.

9/32 will work. >>>----> Ken

Above 125 grains, the diameter begins to enlarge, but they're beveled on the back end for easy target removal. If they kept the 17/64 or 9/32 diameter, the heavier heads would become quite long and prone to breaking off and/or bending the insert. You can get inserts in 70 grain brass, which break off into 50 grains as well as 100 grain brass inserts. More than one way to increase front end weight.

Thanks guys. So they won’t hang up in the target with the axis 5 mm shafts?

Ethics archery makes a really good insert/outsert setup. They makes them for the 4mm, 5mm and 6mm shafts. They can vary in weight from 100grain up to 180 grain. RMS sells some field points in lots of different grains, their prices are quite reasonable. Tophat also makes points in a variety of different heavy weight sizes but their prices are a little higher.

Grizzlystik has more alternatives for you as does the original manufacturer - Easton. They make a break off HIT insert that can be adjusted for the amount of weight you want to shoot.

Gold tip has a .166 insert system that you can screw in weights into the back of. Those would only work for the 4mm arrows and you would have to match up the outserts to whatever diameter arrow you are shooting. The different spine of arrows constitutes a larger outside diameter because all .166 diameter arrows are all measured from the inside - only the outside changes.

You have lots of options.

Those outserts don't hang up too bad if the proper diameter OD is selected, Ethics are really tight.

I don't have any trouble with them.

I love the small (5mm) diameter arrows with the half out inserts. Here is one with a 300grain tip I got from Big Jim. Tapered back as already mentioned.

I didn't know their was an arrow skinnier than the 5 mm axis. I like the skinny arrows.

Yup, 4mm is what I shoot. I have a TON of the .300"/ = 5/16" points/ braodheads. They all match up perfect with those inserts I've been telling you about.
