I'm looking for someone to take my shafts and turn them into footed shafts. Anyone out there?

I have never owned a footed shaft. But have seen some real beauty’s leather wallers have made on here. Looks like a lot of work. Good luck!

Get ahold of Surewood Shafts. They can refer you to a man that does shafts for some retailers.

A chance for me to learn something here. Lets say I have for example, 50-55 shafts already cut/tuned. I decide to foot them how much or if any at all does that affect spine? Nice looking shafts SaddleHill.

From what I've found out the added point weight is minimal. Replace to weight of Cedar with the footed wood weight @30-40 grains.

perty sure Aromkr said not noticeable change of spine with footing

he should know

I second Aromkr slight weight gain but I have never had any change in spine to make any noticeable differance static or dynamic.Footed mixed with unfooted you can pick up a slight differance but if they are all footed and weigh close to the same they will be ok.Not too many of us shoot well enough to tell the differance. At least I don't. Tyler, those footed shafts look great! I would be interested trying some if you would care to share the info. Thanks

Recently, sent two dozen tapered shafts away to be footed. Just received back Padauk footed arrow shafts, that should be great. Can't wait to get several finished up and flying.

I am really liking that Bocote footing in the above pic.

I'd like to know how he gets them so uniform. Obviously machined. I just made up two dozen and the amount of hand-work and elbow grease was insane!

Yeah I do most of my arrows with foots.I figure I have done thousands since 1970.started when I was ten years old.learnt to do it from a popular machanics book printed in the 1940's.The basic process is not insane but I probably am.I hear ya Osr

babysaph... i meant $2,000 in shafts... meaning that I trust the work enough to end a high dollar amount of shafts for him to work on. I certainly could never afford to have 2,000 shafts footed even doing it myself.

I posted a build-a-long on how to do a four finger foot on here several years ago but don’t know if it is still available or not. Mom

Don’t know where the Mom came from. Would be nice to have an edit feature.

Autocorrect is my worst enema. See what I did there?
