It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Rudy the Red Rover. Rudy named us the Hinterland Rovers and was integral into rekindling roving among us merry band of rover's and sparking the imagination of archer's throughout the traditional archery community. Some of you are lucky to have roved with him. Also, he took great care and love into his creations from Alpine Wool and Leather. Hold on to those treasures for they are the last.
Send an arrow downrange for him and prayers to his family.
May you find the clearing at the end of the path, brother.
So sorry to hear of your loss Chris, please accept my sincerest condolences
This Sunday, The Mercian Bowmen will be roving over the historic Ferrers Estate on the ancient borders of Nottinghamshire Derbyshire and Leicestershire. We will loose an arrow to remember Rudy The will lay where it comes to rest to be returned to the earth for eternity.
We all lose so much when someone passes. All of their knowledge and experience, their talents and skills, the things that they might have done or made, the friendships they had. It's a very sad time. I recently felt the bite of loss and every time I think of someone passing, I remember these things. Rest in peace brother.
Yes I was one who enjoyed His an yours roving pictures an the telling of the events, He will be missed and prayers for a better place. Peace and Prayers for Family an Friends
I haven't shot in close to three years. Have hardly been on the wall about that long. I just did a search on Hinterland Rovers on the wall and found this.
Almost wish I hadn't.
The Hinterland Rovers are an institution. Loved the posts about Rudy and all. So sorry to hear of your loss, HR. Hope that the roves continue, though.
Sorry for your loss. I didn’t know him, but it seems like losses of fellow bow hunters seem to be accelerating. Maybe just my age (70). I’ve lost some good friends lately.
