Took a quick trip to the shack today to set out my targets and do a little shooting with some river cane arrows and my backed osage bow. Gotta say, I was a little surprised with the arrows. First time making them from some shafts I traded for a while back on here. I had previously shot a couple a few times in the garage and decided to see how I did stretching out a little.

This guy's been attacked by an actual bear and an actual buck. 40 yards, first shot went right over. This is my 2nd shot.

These 2 guys are around 20 yards each. I shoot from a little cluster of ironwood trunks to keep it interesting. Missed these once each as well.

A blind overlooking a bench above the ponds. Switched over to a gamenabber point for what turned out to be my only stumping shot. Lost the head, but hit right below the lighter spot I was shooting for at 40 or so.

Thanks BJ! I'm liking these myself. Wouldn't think something so unlike a nice tubular shaft would shoot this well, but I guess they did it for centuries before I got around to trying it. I did aquire these with the ends doweled and tapered, I just added tips, nocks and feathers.

Oops. Thanks Ken, fun stuff for sure! Wrapped it up after that shot, only stumper I had along. Check out my redneck shooting gloves I was using. They actually work really well lol.

Thanks guys, and you're most welcome. Onehair, it's backed with rawhide that I dabbed dyes on before adding finish.

Hey Damon. Can you give a few more details about those gloves?
I’m just looking on my phone. Is that a old tab cut and glued on?

Thanks guys!
BJ, I had a bunch of scrap leather around and cut some thicker stuff and glued it on smooth side out. Not sure exactly how thick, but it's way thicker than handle or shelf leather. Scrap bags of leather at Hobby Lobby around $10 or $20. Can't remember exactly I've had this stuff for years. I used Loctite super glue.

Oh, and I tried it full finger tip width first and that was a no go. Bought a size smaller than my normal glove size for snugness. I'll probably use em this fall with a thin wool liner.
