This years Cloverdale Traditional Nationals will be on June 10,11,12. The Traditional Bow Package Raffle will be for a JT Traditional Longbow of your choice, a Selway Quiver and a Rhino Products Bow case. We have a brand new 30 x 100 shelter house that will be full of vendors plus our gun range shelter. We will also have several self setup vendors as usual. Should be a great year and we are really looking forward to seeing all our friends and making new ones!!

Anyone can attend, you can turn in your score or not, they have a 25 target practice course you can shoot forever, and you can shoot the big course more than once if you change weapons or if you pay for a fun round.

There are some shaded spots but I would plan to arrive early if possible as that's what everybody looks for. You'll love this shoot. Those folks set some of the best and most creative ranges I have ever shot. The terrain on the ranges is ideal--hard to lose an arrow. :o)

I would say most are between 15 and 25 yards, maybe a few large animals at 30 but I don't think any are longer than that. This is a relaxed shoot atmosphere where you can shoot for fun or competition. They have two 20 target ranges and one 10 target for a total of 50 targets on the main courses. You can also shoot a great practice range of about 25 targets all you want to. I promise you're going to have a great time.

waterlogged-Not as many shooters as Compton, but still a good number of shooters. I "think" the number is usually around the 500 mark. The range is great and the target scenarios are cool...black bear at a picnic table ect. With Compton being the following weekend, there aren't as many vendors as there used to be, but still plenty to find whatever you might need in the way of supplies. My favorite shoot!

If you pull up their web site you can click on rules on the left side of the screen. The only thing missing is the rules for the barebow class. They didn't have a barebow class in 2020, and are trying to have it updated to include it. The standard rules for barebow apply.

Found descriptions in the rules. Don’t know how I missed it yesterday.
So if I brought a Warf that has a Bear Weather Rest, or a Hoyt Super Rest and a plunger, that’s fine for modern recurve. But a springy rest makes it not legal? Seems to me that a springy is less complicated and tunable than a Hoyt Super Rest and a plunger, but I guess I’ll just leave the Warf at home and shoot another bow I haven’t been spending much time with.

Thanks to all those who attended this years shoot!! We had some rain Saturday morning which made for some slick hills but everyone seemed to have a smile on their face! Rained again during the money shoot down but no one melted and we saw some great shooting!! We will keep our fingers crossed for drier weather next year. Really enjoyed seeing some old friends and met some new ones. Should have the results sent to our web master this week.

I do agree that the Cloverdale shoot is well run. Fortunately, I can usually say that about most of the traditional shoots. Each of the more well known shoots has something unique that makes them stand out. Whether it’s the unlimited shooting on good courses of ETAR and Compton or the uncanny seemingly “down home” feeling of the Tennessee Classic, something just brings you back.
In my opinion, Cloverdale uniqueness is associated around the course. They flow over varied terrain. The use of wooden backstops mixed with naturally occurring backstops certainly helps prevent long arrow searches and helps newer shooters feel comfortable. Cloverdale seems to get a lot of newer shooters each year and did this year once again. And let’s face it, even the more seasoned shooters occasionally let one go.
Also, while Cloverdale certainly doesn’t give you the value when it comes to shooting and pricing, they are keeping up the targets which some clubs seem to be struggling with these days. So, perhaps you have to accept that part of it. We have shot almost a dozen courses across the eastern part of the nation so far this year and enjoyed them all. But we really enjoy the Cloverdale course.

Cloverdale is one of my favorite shoots along with the Tennessee Classic. Great people that put on the Shoot and we had a great time as usual. Feel a little bad for the people that didn’t make it to the shoot because they couldn’t afford the gas, but damn glad I could make it. Got to see a lot of my good friends. Thanks to the Cloverdale group for all the work they did for such a nice shoot. Kurt

This was my first time at Cloverdale and it was well worth the two hour drive. My grandson and myself had a great time shooting and talking to others. everyone was very friendly. I'll go back again.

Cloverdale is my favorite. It’s 4 hours for me and one of my favorite courses. Since a lot of the bigger shoots like ETAR and such are too far to go from Missouri, I can’t compare. Me and a buddy came up Friday and shot, then shot Saturday morning and took off. I had to be back for my grandsons 2 birthday party. Otherwise I’d be there for 4 days.
Kudos to the guys that put the shoot on. I know it’s a lot of work and I want them to know how much we appreciate it. I’ve been coming for 22 years and I hope many more.

Believe me. Given the couple of groups in front of us, those logs saved us a lot of time watching them search for their arrows.

JR, the wood backstops are older soft rotten logs. Great backstops.
