The best way is to use specific nock point pliers. Put the point over the gap and squeeze just enough to separate the brass far enough to pull it off of the string. You can also use a knife or screwdriver to spread the gap enough to get it off.

Lost Nation sells nocking pliers that has a nock remover feature for $ 14.95 not sure of the brand.I own one made by Tru - Fire that looks identical except for color. Mine work great.

Nock pliers, pocket knife, butter knife, lots of ways.
All you need to do is open it up where the ends meet.

Above the two openings to mount a nocking point is a blade or wedge to open a nocking point.

Needle nose pliers will work in a pinch. Pun intended.

Before I bought a tool I used two pairs of needle nose pliers and pulled them apart. I tried using a screwdriver but a couple times I cut the servings. I used to use monofilament serving materials. I asked the owner of the archery store I went to what he used. I had him get one for me.

What’s the BEST way to remove a nock point without string damage.
Nock pliers with a nock remover.
The ones Lost Nation Archery sells are excellent. They are exactly like my TruFire that I’ve been using for 30 years. Lot’s of ways to mangle one off but this is the right tool for the job.

Grizz, those are just like mine except for the color. Once you use one you’ll never want to remove nocks in any other way. Doesn’t damage string or nock.

I grab each side of the gap with pliers and pull apart.
