I actually got this bow off eBay in spring 2020 and had it shipped to a border town in New York State for me to pickup.

As we know land crossings were soon halted due to the pandemic, so I had to wait until mid-November of this year to be able to go pick it up!

Pics are not the best...will get better ones when the weather improves.

Been looking for a 50# Saber for years and finally found a listing where the bow was not named, so flew under the radar!

I had a string made by Allen Shafer and, best of all, a set of silencers monkeyball sent me that I had been saving just for this bow.

I found some comments Larry Hatfield made on another Saber thread of mine. This model, made from 1996-2000, was modelled after the old 1958-1960 Catalina's and Palomar's.

In Larry's words:

"The reason it looks like the old bows was deliberate. I liked those bows so much I wanted to build something like them with modern materials.

Sadly, not too many people figured out what a good bow that was and they faded quickly. Gail Martin and I shot them for years.

Gail's favorite bow I ever built for him."

That's pretty high praise eh?

Thanks for looking... Peter >>>----------->

Here's a picture of Craig's great silencers...compact, but light! Thanks!

Now I have three of them. Two are 60# so need to sort out what to do with one of those.

Nice recurve. I sold one of those for a friend. I always wish that I had kept it.

Hey Craig! I wondered why they were so soft and not bulky...really like how they expanded once I clipped them. Nice work!

One of the consistent replies I see when people are discussing the Saber is seller’s regret! They are a remarkably stable yet fast bow.

They only made them for five years and those who own them tend to keep them. This is the lowest weight Saber I have seen in eight years of looking.

Every other one I saw I acquired. That’s only three plus this one…hard to find!

That’s a beautiful bow. I have the Pope &Young version of that bow with the woven carbon on the back . One of the nicest bows I’ve ever shot. Mine is un marked as it was the photo type I got from the Martin family. Congratulations on a fine bow.

When I got my new NM Ramer, I also put Craigs silencers on, I had been saving them for something special and the Ramer was it. Monkeyball is a good man.
