Are these guys still in business? Internet search only shows the custom shop ultralight stuff, the last post on their facebook page is 2018 and I don’t think I have seen the smaller hand clumber for sale anywhere for a couple of years.

everybody has their products for sale…

From: BigHorn
Date: 04-Jan-22

it looks like they are now Novix. The custom line is still run by the original owner, I think.

Check out XOP. Same guys, less expensive.

From: Greg D
Date: 04-Jan-22

Wasn’t XOP selling rejected or fake LW stands a while ago? I think there was a lawsuit?

The original lonewolf assault 2 hang on and assault hand climbers are very hard to find. Andre Diquisto sold lonewolf years ago and started lonewolf custom. XOP had some ties with his son Cody. I have some XOP and it is Not the same quality or USA made. Novix is the new company started by the guys who bought lonewolf from Andre. Novix is good stuff, I have their helo stand. I don't know what the availability or future of the regular lonewolf products. It's a shame because for me they are the best

Don't know much about the custom gear, but I wouldn't trade my old assault hand climber for anything. Quiet, packable, and very easy to use, I've logged hundreds of hours in it over the years.

I was talking about the assault climber

I love me Lone Wolf sit & climb !!!!! EXCELLENT !!!!!

wonder why these companies can not leave well enough alone? They were doing fine as lone wolf but now have changed their name.

Baylee, I don’t know if you lucked into some at your local store but neither Cabelas or Bass Pro has had one in the catalog since at best September

Wow. Why cant we buy stuff like we use to? Can't buy broadheads or treestands. I looked at some ladder stands the other day and all the stands said out of stock. I am not buying the excuse that everyone is demanding stands. I think it is something else

That's a alpha not an assault in the pics posted. Alphas are not as rare these days to aquire

I agree Riverwolf. Best climber ever.

That is a not the stand I have been asking about.nice stand but bigger.I have been looking for an assault. Thanks though.

The Lone wolf hand climber is awesome. Quiet, light and sturdy. The sit and climb is nice also.

From: Greg D

Wow, this went worse than I thought it was going to go. What would be your next choice for a light weight easy to carry climber?

From: Verdeburl

My understanding is that the upper controlling folks kind are at each others throats, and lawyers got involved with patents, and designs stuff--a complicated legal mess. So certain folks have went out on their own, name changes etc.. I was told the XOP stuff is Chinese made so as to reduce costs. The actual Novix stuff is supposed to be USA made. At this point I have no clue, but I do know there was a big legal mess between ownership, and controlling folks at Lone Wolf---things all stemmed from certain folks designing stands looking "almost" like the Lone Wolf by another name, and the legal battle began. The original cast aluminum Lone Wolf stands were great high quality products. It's a true shame to see things go as they are. I have not one thing against the product, or it's design. In recent web searches I've seen reports of belts breaking, and issues with cracks. I have absolutely no way to verify, or deny any of those claims so take them how you will. Their original sales pitch of being your silent partner was right. Those stands didn't ping, and rattle like the other stands made of hollow tubing. I hope the Novix products remain top quality USA made stands. The Alpha Hand Climber is one of the easist stands to set up, and use all while being quiet, and well built. I hate to see such a quality product go by the way side.

From: spike78
Date: 05-Jan-22

I was told from a guy that owns an archery shop is that Novix now has the hand climbers and the small mom and pops are no longer getting any only the big stores like Cabelas. This is the future of retail giants.

From: Knifeman

Glad I have 8 of them, I knew I hoarded them for a reason...

From: Boliver

I have several, love them but I no longer hunt. So I have two lock- on's with climbing sticks looking for a new home.

From: Desperado

Jack....It is the same thing everywhere...people are too lazy to work and being compensated for it...manufacturing, trucking, delivery, warehouse, sporting goods, shipping etc. and the list goes on and on......plus the COVID situation....Look at the shelves at local stores....2022 is not a bright outlook !!!! Just my 2 cents...Des

From what I understand, Dequisto that owns XOP and Lone Wolf Custom gear owns the rights to the LW name..supposedly a lapse in the rights or something to that effect. Novix is the owners of the regular LW company that sells the stands that are mentioned in this thread..hamd climber , Assault,. They had to rename their company to Novix.

I may not be correct in my information but thats what Ive read anyway.

Ralph, please keep us updated on the results of your email enquiry if you don't mind. Thanks!

I have an Assault hand climber that is truly the best stand I've ever owned and I'll be bummed if I can't get replacement bands for it.

From: 1/2miledrag

I bought an assault two years ago with extra set of x-large bands; glad i did it based on this info.

From: PIRA Dad

I looked at the Novix website and dont see climbers, just hang on. Which stinks because I'd like the wide sit and climb seat

From: Tundra
Date: 06-Jan-22

I just bought a sit climb upper from Lone Wolf direct. It took several calls to catch them but when I ordered I had the sit part in about two weeks. Keep ringing their phone you will get them. It took me several tries.

Lone Wolf been using their stands since the beginning. One of the best stands ever made.

Try oak leaf outdoors. LWCG told me to contact oak leaf for any warranty or customer service on pre 2022 LW stands. I’ve yet to reach them. [email protected]

I was under the impression that Oakleaf Outdoors was the legal name of Lone wolf. Maybe not....

From: mec lineman

Your willing to sell one of the best stands ever made because of warranty? Oakleaf Outdoors is the parent company of Novix. How do I know? The box on my Helo says so on the box.

Baylee: I have also noticed threads about the bolts at the pivot points breaking. It has bee said that one must be sure the bolts, and such have to be correctly into a certain area prior to tightening them. From what I gather the belt issue is mainly with the XL belts. No matter what product--no matter what name is on it--I darn sure do not want a failure of any kind while climbing, or descending the tree. I as many would hope there will be a source for replacement belts for all of these climbers out there, but who knows. When one really stops to think what the job of these belts is, and even the cables on the summit climbers you should be very very picky about inspections of the entire stand--cables, belts, welds, any bolts, etc.. I still have, and use what was called the Summit "Clear Shot" its different than other Summits, and is no longer made. I'm anal about inspecting it. I made a comment before, and will stand by it--One of the most dangerous, and deadly pieces of hunting equipment ever made was the portable treestand. Deadly for hunting game, and deadly for killing hunters. As I have gotten older I dont use my Climber as often as i did before, but when I do I use a device-descender that will allow me to slowly lower my body to the ground if something happens to the stand itself There. The product I use is called the Treestand Wingman. I will not hunt elevated in any portable treestand without it. There have been far too many life ending, and changing treestand accidents to take a chance on cheaply made low quality metal stands. I know we are talking about a specific product here as far a a climbing treestand. WIth actual pictures, and documented breakage of traction belts, and pivot bolts---- NOPE--I'm done with their products. There isn't a trophy animal big enough walking the face of the earth that would entice me to take a risk of a bolt, belt, etc. breaking while I'm perched 18- 20 feet in the air leaving me in a situation that could be life ending, or altering. TO each their own--get out, and hunt your way, and your style, but please put safety first, and foremost when you decide to leave the ground, and climb a tree.

XOP belts they offer don't seem to be compatible with the older stands. The XOP seem to have a different locking system now. They even state it does not fit their own Generation 1 stands? How screwed up is that??

I suspect, that the belts were not made by Lone Wolf anyways. It is probably some kind of a gear belt for some heavy machinery or ??

I bet they just bought this from their supplier, cut it to length and stamped their logo onto it.

I mean, it is stainless steel cable on the inside and then the rubberized polyurethan resin around. Probably comes out of a continious mold machine where they make 20 belt at a time or so. I am looking right now to find the belt supplier.

I have a Lone wolf stand and love it. It is without a doubt the quietest, lightest and easiest to pack that I have tried and I have tried more than most. Still own most of them. You can never be too safe when climbing trees with any stand. That said, I would not dismiss the use of any good, quality made stand based on the pretense that some part of it might break one day....if you are climbing with a life line or other proper safety "fall stop" device there is no worry about falling.

Here you guys go. Seems LW will be coming out with a new climber and it will be 10-12 pounds. But you ain’t gonna like the price! Watch video

From: Tajue17
Date: 07-Jan-22

I'm just hearing about all this now but dang I still have a few original LW assaults and climbers as well as original Loc-ons that are also very nice.

based on my experience with what everyone always called over priced stands though there's no reason I'd ever shop for any stand or sticks ever again!! the sad thing is nobody else hunts besides me so in the trash these will go someday..

Spike, where did you find a video? Which Lone wolf are you talking about?

From: Kanati

Spike I saw the video and the price is insane! $800-900?!

From: spike78
Date: 09-Jan-22

Greg it was sent to me by a buddy and is found on YouTube.

From: Greg D

The big compound site had a post that described a new lone wolf redesign going for NINE HUNDRED. If true I definitely won't be buying that stand.

From: Kanati
Date: 09-Jan-22

At $900 I should be able to put the stand on the base of the tree and press the up button lol!

From: Bentstick81
Date: 09-Jan-22

I've been looking for it on youtube and don't see it. Anyone have info???

From: Verdeburl
Date: 09-Jan-22

Ouch—$800-$900 for a climber. That’s serious cabbage for a portable stand. I’m sure they’ll sell though, but at that price I can’t imagine they’ll sell tons of them. That’s a very lofty asking price if in fact the information is true.
