Better to be successful late season then not to have been at all. With more than a dozen messed up stalks and opportunities this season I was able to finally connect on this guy Thursday in west Texas. Shot was about 18 yards and slightly quartering away. I am shooting my new to me RKKORTE about as good as I have ever shot and it has given me a little more confidence in the field that has paid off. Thank you Nemah for making these bows and Jeff for selling me the bow. Hope all have had a good new year's.

Frank, that place was as green as we had ever seen in July. I don't know how much significant rain has happened since then, but not much. For such a dry environment the deer herds usually appear fairly healthy though. The owner is considering trying to remove some of the cedar thickets and open up more vegetative plots. Not sure how much would grow once the cedar is gone but it's a good thought at least.

A fine thankful dinner tonight from the above buck. Smother heart pan seared with red onion, Ginger and garlic sautéed mushrooms, fresh kale and rice. The glass of wine there was made by the Mrs. It's a fine ender to a season. Hope everyone is warm and filled this evening.
