May not look like much to some, but I'm plum tickled! Being right handed I picked up this $45 dollar garage sale Kodiak with ambition's of learning to shoot left handed. It's taken a bit of time and patience but im finally consistently hitting the kill. It's only 13 yards but it's finally starting to click. Moral of the story?....if you want it bad enough you can make it happen.

Very nice. I like the way you're thinking

I don't know why you say it doesn't look like much. I learned to shoot left handed when I was 70 although I still shoot right handed most of the time. It's good to learn new things, and to me, that looks just great....both the bow and the shooting.

Now that it's starting to click I'm sticking to the basics before I start stretching the yardage. You gotta crawl before you walk.

It’s a great way to stretch out your shoulder muscles

I think you’re way ahead of the game just by getting that bow for $45.

I had to switch from right to left, took a little time. Wish I had switched before it was a necessity. I can tell you it’s a lot harder to find a 45 dollar Kodiak than it is to learn to shoot lefty.

Yep..been there! Great deal and good job!

I would definitely be flattering myself to complain about that group even at that range….

Especially left-handed! I don’t do ANYTHING with my left hand other than occasionally find the right note on my 4-strings. I hardly even use them when banging out sentences on the keyboard… I’m just SUPER right side dominant.

I’m not sure I could draw #20 with my left…. LOL

Good on ya!

I am jealous !!! Being L E dominant and VERY R handed I tried to switch before to L H.....Even Ken Beck at the BW shooting school couldn't figure out how to get me LH !!!! Lost cause for me !!! Congratulations on your success !!!!! DEs

Paul, nice find. What’s the weight? I found a 45# LH Super Necedah about 8 months ago and bought it for the same reason. Lance

Very good. Why were you attempting to switch? And a string bow will help you get muscle memory faster and practice to form you need for consistency

Good shooting right there!

It can be done.

Yup; is a great feeling of satisfaction. For those who think it would be too difficult, I tell them that they already know how to shoot. Learning to shoot accurately is the tough part. Now you just need to build up muscle memory and strength going with the other hand. Patience and practice gets you there.

Lance, it's 50lbs. It was one of those few and far between finds.

Fine shootin'.

Anyone historically shooting righty would call that group well done. So I say, fabulous job!
