Saw one of these advertised. If deer only see in black and white why wouldn’t this work ?

I don't see why it wouldn't work for deer. I can remember first seeing a pattern like this on in the early 80's available on camo and I'm sure a lot of guys wore it and killed deer.

To me it's simple enough to wear an orange vest and hat over a regular Gillie vs buying another suit.

It will work.

It will work but research shows that deer see orange as light gray. The way I understand it, this suit would probably be more effective in snow than in the woods with no snow.

Phil, That makes sense, at least to me.

I think a lot of hunters get caught up in what looks good to them and not what will disappear in the woods when hunting deer when selecting camo colors or patterns in my opinion.

Probably would be ok. But why. Unless your hunting during gun season

I've had a bear look straight at me while wearing orange and it wasn't bothered. 20 yards.

They don't have great eyesight, maybe he wants it for turkey. :)

Contrast would make sense. Some different shades built it to break up the outline.

And then there is the issue of whether it is one of those fabrics that glows.

Quoted:"research shows that deer see orange as light gray". I read it is suggested that it will also blend into skyline well.

Yellen. I only bow hunt and hunt in WV right along with the rifle hunters. They have. Been known to take pot shots. Even scarier now that they can take bucks or does. The vest sort of negates the effect of the ghillie.

I can’t find one with the built in Hexx . Since they see blaze orange as grey and that doesn’t bother them. (It never has for me in the past) then I think it might work. After all it’s is just for the hunters and I just wanted the effect of the ghillie. Just a thought

The primary advantage of a ghillie when deer hunting etc. is minimizing the human form/outline.

Yep. I could have reached out and touched this spike a few minutes ago. He still doesn’t know I was around. Rancho Safari and orange vest.

who cares? He did use a pod. I don't use those.

It would not work for me. I would be too self conscious & feeling like I had a spot light on me. You need to be confident in your set up to remain still. >>>----> Ken

Come on guys, don't even suggest that "Baby" go out in gun season. he might blow his toe off. Hay Doc. Have a great Turkey day.

R combs., I could see my bowstring hitting that suit, maybe I would use it for rifle though.

What about taking a blaze orange t shirt and cutting it in strips and attaching to current suit?

Just a little diversion from the original question......but this thread got me thinking about a similar thread from years ago.....bowhunters, and wearing orange......and a popular contributor from that time.....Mr. Biggie Hoffman......anyway, somehow the posts lead to Biggie talking about Tennessee football and the "Orange Crush".....seems I remember Biggie played there and was part of that........so I says to Biggie.....know why Tennessee players wear orange?.......1) they can wear it Saturday for games....2) they can wear it Sunday for hunting....and 3) they can wear it the rest of the week picking up trash along I40.....Haw!!!!

We got a big laugh out of it..... :-) I think Auburn won that year.

Now, back to the program......

If you don't move and you have background it will work. Been there, done that. I even had a flock of turkeys land in trees around me while stillhunting during gun season with blaze orange on. Go figger!

That one still puzzles me!!!
