This morning was a great, exciting, and cold ( 25 degree ) morning. 10 point. He was chasing some does and made the mistake of stopping at 30 yards from my treestand twelve feet up in a pine tree. Broadside shot. Waited a half hour and found him approx 100 yards away. Shot with my Frankenbow. Bear Black Bear compound riser with Samick Sage recurve limbs, 62#@28", 2018 Aluminum Arrow with a Magnus Classic broadhead. I thank the LORD that at 62 years old I can still bow hunt as hard as I do and still have the desire to.

Nice buck, I've seen several pictures of the animals you have taken over the years along with your shooting abilities on The first shot of the day. So, along with being a good shot you must be good at keeping your cool when game approaches and this is a skill that eludes a lot of hunters. Good job

I decided to get the buck mounted. WoW did the taxidermy prices go up since the last one I had mounted. :(

From: Kwikdraw
Date: 28-Nov-21

Well, he's a "mountin' buck" for sure, buddy! Good job Nemo, 30 yards is the deal! Ain't it a shame, it's over in such a short time?

And yeah, I'd have to take a "Booner" to justify a shoulder mount these days! Euromounts fit my wallet nowadays! And as stated above, you've got plenty more years ahead of you!

From: Nemophilist
Date: 28-Nov-21

Nemophilist's embedded Photo

Kwikdraw it wasn't too short of a time. From September 18th to November 20th (64 days) I only missed nine days of bowhunting. My wife had my picture put on a milk carton. "LOL" I do have a few euro mounts they're nice also.

From: Kwikdraw
Date: 28-Nov-21

Hey Nemo, talkin' about each hunt, from spotting your target to recovery, it's over too quick for me! But that's the way it is. And yes, my season started Oct.1, and will end 1st week in Jan. so lots of time to hunt and feel the thrill! Still have one hog to hunt and a few does, so it ain't over yet!

From: Kwikdraw
Date: 28-Nov-21

Hey Frank, wife has a great sense of humor! Like the milk carton deal!

From: babysaph Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member

From: Nemophilist

babysaph, I like what Ryan Rothhaar (Roger Rothhaar's son) said. " My father told me a quote long ago (I think from Yogi Berra) that sums it up pretty well: "There may be a lot of people better than me, there may be a lot of them that are smarter, but nobody is going to work harder than me." I give my Dad and Mom credit for my work ethic. If I don't succeed it won't be from not bowhunting hard.

From: Nemophilist

Jim, My wife wants me to make our master bedroom into my game room and the small game room I have now into a bedroom. I'm all for it since the master bedroom is at least twice the size of the game room I have now. But it is down the list of the projects I need to get done. A few days ago when we had that wind storm with 60mph winds the wind blew down three nice sized pine trees in my yard. I cut up and disposed of two of them and I still got one left. Plus I have that big maple tree to cut up in my yard. Plus I have a handful of other projects to get done around the house before archery season gets here. So the move to my new game room will be pending until I get the other stuff done.

From: grizz
Date: 14-Mar-22

Jim, I was surprised I got it back so soon. I figured since the taxidermist said end of April, I'd get it back the end of May or even June.
