After seeing Keefers post and beautiful leather grip wrap on the ‘59. I looked at some of the ones I put on my self bows and knew mine were making the bows I made look bad. So I reached out and he coached me through some finer points I was missing. Thanks again Keith.

Jay that looks very good and that is a sharp looking self bow you made there. Love those skins on it . Did you buy a bulk pack of leather and pick out something you liked in the bag or just buy a piece already cut ? In our area there was a 30% off sale last Friday for leather and leather kits. My friend named Bruce who said I never mention his famous name after my earlier post on making his wrap bought a huge piece of black and white calf hair and got the 30% off . He said it was huge and I thought he was buying it to make some calf hair side plates . If you watch the sales Jay sometimes you can find some good deals on leather craft there. Thanks for showing your wrap with us and hope others will chime in as well.

I bought 3 colors approx 12”x12” each. the round leather trim and the beads. No sale unfortunately. The thin leather edge was tricky to burnish, I applied Gum Tragacanth to the edges then used a piece of wood on it. Then after all that work ended up covering the edges with Round leather trim.
Now to rescue my other bows from ugly grip wraps. Thanks again Keith
