What not to do:
Get your saddle ready. Set your strap aside as you get your sticks and everything ready. Go hunting. Climb a tree and wonder where that strap you set aside went. Realize you didn't bring it and there's not a safe way to tether to the tree. Take it all down, find a spot to fall asleep in the grass next to a shrubbery.

You can still hunt without a tree stand. Some of us do it all the time. Sleeping is always optional though. :)

Yeah had shot opportunities on 3 from the ground. Not a loss :). Just passed.
