I just purchased a vintage bow. It looks like late 60's to me. It says Seville on it. 41 is stamped on the side, I assume pounds. It has a serial number and 66". It has the most unusual pistol grip riser with a detail that on the back of the bow that mimics the pistol grip detail. It is made to shoot with an elevated rest only. The limb tips are pointy and beautifully shaped. Any ideas of a manufacturer and date?

It looks somewhat like a Howatt Catalina.

Need clear pictures of the serial number and weight stamp, and where they are located.

Also need pictures of the tips, glass and any laminations on the back or face of the riser.

Howatt made a Seville compound..maybe they cranked out a Seville recurve a couple decades earlier. The name was certainly consistent with the Monterey, Del Ray, Palomar, Catalina, Cavalier, Coronado, Matador and Diablo Espana` naming tradition.

Exactly my thinking Mark...the laminations resemble a Howatt but they also look like a one-off bow someone made. Someone who knew what they were doing!

A photo of the s/n will be educational
