I just received the first Bushman Xyphose sold. It’s 64” nock to nock. 57” long. 48# @27” It’s a static tip not a super curve
It’s got everything I enjoy about static tips, speed, quiet, and very pleasant at the shot.
I’m working on dialing it in now, as it takes more spine than I thought it would. Groups well but shows weak spine on the FMJs I tried so far

How the heck do you string it with those deep curves! I got a couple that arn't quite that radical that are near impossible to string with a regular recurve stringer.

Holy cow, that thing is a work of art. From what I’ve heard the performance matches the looks.

I used my stringer and realized stepping my leg through as I do on most of my bows works best. I haven’t twisted a limb yet. And I’m confident these Carbon limbs won’t twist anyway. So I will use the leg through method

That sure is one nice looking bow. I've always liked the static tip bows. Nice length, too. The two piece has to be the nicest looking take down option. Doesn't surprise me that it needs a spine stiffer than anticipated. Enjoy, I bet it's a pleasure to shoot.

It shoots great, very smooth draw. And develops a lot of energy. I’m grouping well, but high
I need to get the appropriate spine going. Probably will lower my tip weight from 250 and try that first.

FredJake, the grip is very full with a palm swell and thumb rest. It’s very repeatable. He calls the material he sprays on it Toad skin.
This bow is the opposite of my self bows and beautiful wood verneer bows. Which I love Those are like an old favorite pickup compared to the latest mid engine corvette. The only thing “Traditional” about this bow is it has only one string
I am deer hunting with an osage bow that I made earlier this year. But this one develops a lot of energy at only 48# so it will be interesting to see how heavy an arrow I can use, and maintain my current hand eye calibration for elevation. I’m guessing in the 700 grain range.
On the Hall tree, maybe I should start a traditional, vintage decoration thread :^))))

To be clear I have some FMJs 250s that are high 600-700 grains. And some XX78 stiff spines that weigh 700ish

Wow that’s a pretty bow. I’ve never had the chance to try a static tip recurve but it is definitely on the list.

Very nice bow. Congrats. Those limb tips may be static, but they curve as much as any super recurve I've seen.

Woodamon1, Thank you, that is my mudroom. I did all the work except for the dry wall. The paint is four different tones laid over a base coat. My cousin helped with the poored concrete. We put Pex tubing in the concrete to heat the floor. Stamped tin ceiling tiles and barn beam walls.

Go look at that draw force again... that's the biggest difference. Xyphose is much faster, quieter and less handshock. (I've shot both). Hopefully Altitude Sickness will post some chronograph numbers...
