Arizona didn’t work out. We sold out and headed back to Oregon. We miss shooting the bow but been too busy looking for real estate. Real estate is hard to find. We’ve been in Elgin Oregon for two weeks. We may have to move on as real estate is slow here. I’ve always liked Eagle Cap Traditional Archers. Will be locating East of the Cascades. If anyone knows of real estate for sale let us know. Thanks. Moosejaw Bowman Gary Sentman.

Good luck finding a special place, and good shooting when you get the Time.

Gary, I'm still enjoying my Sentman longbow..it's become a bit much for me (parkinsons) but it inspires longbow conversations :-)

Gary, I'm a member of Eagle Cap Traditional Archers, and we would be pleased to have you join us. I live in La Grande, and you are correct, real estate is hard to come by. I suspect you have scoured the area beyond Elgin. Imbler had some places come up this summer, and I would look into Union and maybe even North Powder.

Gary, check out Halfway. More off the beaten path but close to good hunting . Good Luck. Regards

May not be any hunting in Oregon if the no killing anything bill passes !!!! They only need a little over 120,000 signatures to get it on the ballot.

It's a seller's market now. My granddaughter and her fiance had a terrible time finding a house to buy. It's a nationwide thing. I'm happy where I am and I'm not going anywhere. Good luck Gary.

Ya...you couldn't pay me enough to live in that state! It USED to be nice...not any more.

Bugle up. Thanks for the reply. We are checking the towns that you mentioned. Made a full house offer on two places. Blue Summit Realty Group turned us down. We felt they used lame excuse for not taking our offer as we were not using them to buy. Told they sold to a Portland bunch.

Moosejaw.

Vikingbear. One has to be rich to buy in Halfway.

Bob. Thinking of taking a foreign language this winter. Chinese or Russian. We’re headed for communist times.

LDB. Thanks Appreciate the offer. You need to enjoy your freedom. It may not last.

Gary, we know a couple of realtors personally if you would like try a different angle here. Would sure love to have you in our archery community if possible. :)

fwiw these days sellers often get LOTS MORE than they asked.

Well...there you go! Thats not the kind of business the realtors around here do. They all help each other!

Come to GA. But stay away from Atlanta. Way to democratic there. Rural areas are beautiful and the hunting is good. It gets HOT- but if you were in AZ you’ve heard that song before. We have a lot of hogs.

Gary, good luck with your move. Yes, it’s a sellers market. Been getting calls from reality people inquiring about buying our house or any property we might want to sell. Three homes down the block all went for asking price here this past month. One newbie is from Washington state, another from CA. the other from Phx. All trying to get away from high property taxes or fires or both. Yes, our old folks community has a good turn over because of death. Property within 25 miles of here is getting out of hand as well.

Here in OH also,, sold mine in two days in Aug. 15K more than the Relator thought we'd get. He talked about bidding wars in some cases, driving prices up to the point to where they might never be worth what they paid. Not very bright really.

Always shooting at a dollar, sometimes a $20 bill and once in a great while a Benjamin if someone has the guts to put one up. Actually we shoot at a $100 bill annually during our annual banquet, which is in honor of one of our fallen members.

Good time to sell , Bad time to buy !! 1 1/2 acres Bare land just came up in Ukiah 30 or so miles to Pendelton 40 or so to La Grande

Forgot price was $75,000

Yeah the problem exists everywhere in the nation now. Can sell for a crazy price but then have to buy for a crazy price.

And then, one day... the bubble will burst. And all of those folks who "sold high" to escape, only to "buy high" (in a new area/state) will be underwater. Hope I'm wrong...

Bugle up. Let me give you a rough description of what we’re looking for in real estate. Marian and I enjoy shooting the bow like some people play golf. Marian wants 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. I want a little privacy on enough ground that I don’t feel I’m in the neighbors yard. I don’t want to owe my soul to the company sto at my age. We are looking for something under $300,000 it’d be nice to have established fruit trees and a garden spot that adds character to the property. No living in an open pasture or hay field. If your real estate friends have something in mind give them my email [email protected]. Archers helping archers.
