Looking at those and wondering… are they the correct taper to use them as a screw-in adapter for a broadhead? I suspect it would depend on the weight you choose….

And maybe they’re too polished for the glue to grab onto, but….

And while I’m thinking about arrow components… what’s the best deal on nocks to fit Black Eagle or GT fake woodies? Looking for reasonable quality that’s not so pricey as the Eastons….

Buehler?

Tophat pins are not suitable for broashead adapters and they're probably more expensive.

Black eagles and GT use different nock sizes, GT are .246 and BE are .2445(same as Easton standard).

I don't use GT and use Beiter symmetric nocks for everything else.

Top Hat are screw on not glued to shaft like tapered field points. You don’t taper the shaft, you compress the end and add treads. No, not suitable for BH adapators.

60 - I was looking at these:

And yes, they’re quite a bit more costly; but in this case I’m thinking in terms of building a closer-to-bombproof broadhead, rather than just being a cheapskate as is my usual MO.

Thanks for that detail, longshot; I just did a little fit testing, and while the GT nocks will fit (pretty darn snugly) into a black eagle, the Easton Standards are indeed a bit loose in the GTs….

Meanwhile the aluminum adapters for using glue-on nocks with carbons seem to fit about exactly the same in Beman, BE Vintage, BE Outlaw, Warriors and GT Trads…

Hmmmm….. Guess they went for the happy medium….

I see what you are thinking. I have seen one of those stuck in a rock, very hard steel. No damage to the shafts either. Not sure without some modification they would be same taper as BH. They do make steel BH adapators, not sure about cost?

Yeah, after I tore up one of the steel ones, I was wondering if there might be a good alternative…

I mean… couldn’t help but be impressed by how well the Ace stood up to being shot into pretty near solid metal, but still….
