The ones I've seen were marked for short draw and were lighter poundage.

Thanks folks!

Just what I was looking for, thanks Doug, profile of a long one beside a short one...

Yeah, they were marked for shorter draws. Mine was marked 56" and 56 lbs at 26"

Hmmm... Can't really see how or why they would consider them only for short draw archers... Unless you're a big fella, I don't think percentage wise many shoot instinctively over a 29 or 29- 1/2" arrow...

Have always liked a short bow (mainly for treestanding) and being about 5' 10" shoot a 28-1/2" arrow (1/2" shelf clearance) and own a couple 52" bows and have no problem with stacking nor finger pinch with them... Own and have owned a few 58 inchers, but have always thought 56" bows are perfect for me with a true draw exactly 28", and the old school yardstick measurement from chest to longest fingertip is exactly 28" too.... Back in the day thought the old school formula was double your draw length for your shortest bow, and why back in 1959 they would consider 56" "short"... Hmmmm.... Maybe 52", but not 56"...

I was born in 1959 and have always wanted a right hand classic '59 Kodiak in the 56" length but I see now they seem to be a rare item... When the reproduction '59s came out was hoping they expand the line to the 56" but now I see this year they went the other way with 64 inchers... Dang...
