Greetings....Nothing more than a simple opinion poll if you folks don't mind.....When it comes to shooting arrows with feathers on, overall...do you prefer short & low, short & high, long & low, or long & high ??? I consider short 2 to 3 inches and long 4 to 5.5 inches.....No debate needed, Just curious....Thanks & be safe ..Des

3x4" parabolics. A few years ago I was shooting IBO matches and 3x4" is the minimum for traditional classes. Shoots well so I stuck with it.

Yep, a lot of us that came out of the old guard still like those big feathers even though we know they aren't necessary; they look good and we need all the help we can get in that category in our eighth decade on the planet. :)

With well tuned arrows, 3" shield cut feathers work great for me. I've used low profile 2.5" shield cuts, but if there's any tuning issues or form issues, it shows up in flight. For extra insurance, 4" shield cut is my normal feather of choice.

I have always shot 5" or 5 1/2" fletching and as tall as I can without them whistling. I don't mess with tuning as most of my arrows are wood seconds and the longer fletching seems to make them shoot better than my ability.

I prefer short 2.5 to 3 inch low profile, but I keep them at 4" low profile due to some competition rules.
I don't know why I adhere to the competition rules though. I haven't been to one in so long, that I can't remember the last time.
