Anyone here shoot the Black Eagle Vintage 500 and have a bare shaft to weigh? Reason for asking, I bought a dozen and they seem a stiffer than the CX heritage 150 and when I finished making one up, it came in a little heavier than I anticipated. 30.5” with regular insert, 175 tip, arrow wrap, and 3 5” feathers hit 500 grains.
Out of curiosity, I took a new a new uncut shaft, at 34” and took the nock off and weighed it. It weighed 314 grains…just the shaft. Then I weighed the rest and all came in at 314 grains. That comes out to 9.2 grains per inch, which is what the 400 spine are supposed to weigh.
I don’t have a spine tester to verify, but I’m wondering if I got a dozen of mismarked shaft.?
If some here has some, could you let me know what your weights are?
Thanks
