C.R., can you outline how you get good arrow flight with vanes out of a recurve with a rest? What arrow rest that would be adjustable but tough enough for hunting to use? A berger button of some sort? Nock point points? Get me headed in the right direction please. Thanks!

I use a Hoyt Super rest with no problems

I would think the quicktune w the spring arm might do it. Of chuck Adams fame. Old bear weather rest will also tune with a softer vane like aae.

A friend fletched some shafts with the trad vanes. They shoot exactly like his feathered shafts off the shelf.

I string walk now. I use a springy rest from Norris archery with a selection of springs. My set up at the moment is Hoyt Satori 19" with medium limbs set at 55#@27" even tiller. 30# spring on springy. Arrow 28" 400 spine legacy carbon with 3 4" trad vanes. Tipped with Jerry Hill broadhead 200 grain. I am using easton inserts that come with 6.5 classic shafts.

Getting a stock pile going of different spines

If your bow is properly tuned, mostly it will only require a different attitude of the vanes versus clearance. Any vane, will work on any rest with that in mind.

I've used the NAP Center Flipper for many years on my bows utilizing an elevated rest.

They work great.

As far as durability is concerned: The bows I use them on are all in excess of 95# draw weight at my draw, and the arrows are over 600 gr. The rests on those bows are the originals placed there many years ago, and after many thousands of shots across them, the only thing I have ever done is replace the teflon sleeves/tubes on the bat/arm, and even that only a few times, so you draw your own conclusions from that. :)
