https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=nMMrSC1mBOY Go to that video and go to 28.39 to 28.58. That is exactly how I shoot a bow,it was how I shot a compound barebow decades ago. If you get your form and release straightened out and consistent and you shoot at ,say 15 yards, getting to where you hit your target and get that visual relationship of the target, the arrow and the bow ingrained in your head, missing becomes a matter of failure of form or release more likely than not.

For 10 yards I lower that ingrained "look" a little, for 20 25 I raise it a little for 30 I raise it some more. After that I just shoot instinct.(for fun, but I never shoot over 20 yds hunting deer or turkeys)

I think the reason I miss now is because my form sucks or my release sucks (or both at the same time),if I could nail down my consistency I could be a half decent shot, every single shot I bet.

I'm in 100% agreement! If I just missed up or down, I wouldn't mind so much, but missing east or west ticks me off and it's nobody's fault but my own, and I usually know as soon as soon as the string drops. And that's probably what separates the men from the boys.

That (your verbal description) was how I shot when I lived in an apartment. I had about 7 yards to shoot into a bag. And it was like having one pin. Outdoors I just did my stroke, and I shot at the point that I would have to shoot at to hit the actually target. Basically like a rifle with a fixed sight. Like gap shooting by instinctive.
