Why do we call them "field points" when we mostly shoot them in our back yards? I shoot broadheads in the field, right?

Why do we drive on a "parkway" and park on a "driveway"?

Hmmm........

Why do some say harvest an animal? You kill animals and harvest vegetables.

Why do we put words together that contradict each other?

Y'know, like "Jumbo Shrimp," or "Military Intelligence?"

Why isn't the opposite of progress called congress?

Man, this one is easy. There are a bunch of different RPS points. Field points differ from target points which have a rounded point by having a sharp shoulder. You want to know what a target point looks like you can look at a target only glue in point. There is an RPS version of that also.

With field points you can use them on targets, and you can use them to shoot, say a rabbit, something you might otherwise use a blunt for. They are an all uses point. That sharp corner is going to inflict a bit of blunt trauma. Not really the same design, but a bit like the versatility of the Keith bullet.

The thinking is that if RPS isn't a crappy enough kludge to start with, and though the only really great thing about them is you can switch the head, lets have an even cheaper head for them, so you don't even need to switch them. But they lucked out, because people really like filed points.

The ones that don't make quite as much sense are the Saunders style with two rounded shoulders, but they look vicious and are less hard on targets, until the point bends over.

That's kinda like me asking the wife if she would buy me this little picker at a flea market. She turned to look and I was holding a little hammer.LOL
